Trillest
Like the title says, which GTA do you think had the worst missions? For me, it has to be GTA IV. Don't get me wrong, it's a wonderful game, but the overabundance of hitman type missions left a bad taste in my mouth. It felt really repetitive, but at least some missions changed it up (Three Leaf Clover, To Live And Die In Alderney, etc.) So, what's your opinion? Algonquin Assassin
I'm about to shock everyone and say GTA IV too... Although I wouldn't say it has the "worst" missions as most of GTA IV's missions are well designed, but I agree the repetitiveness is quite noticeable. Every now and then you get missions like "I'll Take Her" and "Truck Hustle" that spice things up, but the run of the mill going to a particular location and kill everyone only to escape scenario is repeated far too often. It definitely suits Niko's motives, but I would've liked some different styles. I also miss riding shotgun type missions in GTA IV too as they're some of my favourite types of missions in the series. EDIT: Would you mind if I change the thread title to "Which GTA had the least mission variety?" as I think that would be better. I mean every GTA has its bad missions, but I don't think it's fair to write off an entire game based off that whilst ignoring the higher quality ones. theGTAking101 and Trillest

I agree with you. There were some spectacular missions, but most of the time it's "go here, kill everyone, escape". At least the cutscenes and dialogue were always good. Kalvin
I'm about to shock everyone and say GTA IV too... Anyways, I'm not sure, I guess I pick IV.. And I won't write an explanation why because you two pretty much already said why Edited January 12, 2014 by Kalvin Shine o' Vice | Vice City BETA Edition | Grand Theft Auto 3D

HOW'S ANNIE?
I would say VCS, simply because of the missions Turn on Tune in Bug Out and the one where you go to the hotel and you have to fight off all the bikini chicks with AK47's. The fact that these two missions were at about the same time made me put down the game for 12 months (got back to it and finished it 3 times now however) Second however I would say San Andreas because of Supply Lines... I've never had such difficulty in any GTA missions ever.
Lowi
GTA IV - in this game 80% of the mission is boring
ShadowDog94
IV. Although it's a good game the missions are very repetitive. It doesn't have any stand-out high action memorable set-pieces aside from the bank robbery really. I thought the missions in TBOGT were much better though. Kiffster
GTA 1 or GTA London. Boring repetitive missions. GTA 2's missions were so much more fun. I definitely wouldn't say that any of the 3D games had the worst missions.
Real_Badgirl
IV for me as well. The go here, kill someone and leave missions got boring, but I still like the game.

I've never had such difficulty in any GTA missions ever. Oh yes, VCS had some insanely difficult missions. Boomshine Blowout took me months to complete, after that it was smooth sailing until I got to Turn On Tune In Bug Out. Hostile Negotiation from IV was also a pain because of the lack of checkpoints. AnDReJ98
IV. That game had many boring missions, plus they were too repetitive, and all the same, from beginning to the end of the game. Only few were different.
Vercetti42
I'm about to shock everyone and say GTA IV too... Anyways, yes I'd have to say GTA IV for the reasons stated above but GTA IV still had the best story in a GTA game. "Worst" mission could be anything. It could be reptition, most frusterating, most boring, ect. You didn't need to change the title of the topic just because you aren't comfortable criticizing your favorite game.

Saying something is the "worst" to me is pretty definitive without out much in between. Even I can admit GTA IV has repetition, but it still has its good missions. Tycek
I'm going to break your combo and say GTA 2. Not only the game got like 66 missions (split into 22 in each map), but some of them were repeating themselves three times with some changes. I know it's old game and the overhead graphics didn't let them to make something more interesting, but GTA 1 have much more interesting jobs that GTA 2.
