I've noticed an increasing amount of them and had (I think) the first one today after stealing a car from a woman - usually in the past I've noticed it seems like I'd only get them after stealing from male NPCs.

 

If it's $7 or 9K, I'll make an effort. If it's $5K, depends on how I feel. If it's $3k, probably not. If it's $1K, I don't care and will just go somewhere busy and prepare for people to come to me and fight a while before someone gets it.

 

Sometimes if I feel like trolling and get a $1k, I'll use the fact that I can sit in my apartment and put bounties on people and they can't put one back on me. Eventually, I'll let someone have it but not before I'm done with troll time.

I love them.

 

Same here. If I'm bored sometimes I'll just keep stealing cars until I get one just to get a gunfight started.

Nothing better when getting hunted by desperados. A great reason to be a ruthless killer when they come nearby.

 

Also, why do people freak out when they die or some sh*t. It's just a damn game.

I don't mind them as long as they make sense. Like I would shoot someone while they are driving, take the car and then get a bounty. That shouldn't happen.

I'm not entirely sure but I don't think killing the driver makes a difference. I think you can still get a bounty even if you kill the driver.

Yeah, I agree.

 

PvP is quite boring to me, and the last thing I need is ANOTHER excuse for someone to shoot me on sight.

 

If I want a competitive PvP experience, I'll go play Battlefield.

The only time I find bounties annoying is either when I get one getting a car for Simeon, or if I finally find that car I've been looking everywhere for (Hardtop Manana), only to get a bounty and it get blown to pieces.

Dead drivers are not a deterrent. I just got my first one for merely running into another car. THAT'S BS.

I once had to throw my mechanic out of my car and i got a bounty. This happend once like over a month ago.

 

Still have to throw him out of my car pretty much daily and get into a fistfight.

You can get a bounty just for jacking a parked car, or even hopping in a car that a pedestrian fled out of. The latter happened to me for the first time today, so I can definitely confirm it with a fresh mind.

Name of the game you are playing happens to be GRAND THEFT AUTO. I agree the NPC bounties are out of place. Not all of these soccer moms can have these kinds of connections.

I know about stealing parked cars and getting bounties, and after the passenger(s) ran away from it, but I don't recall ever getting a bounty after killing the people inside, and selling stolen cars used to be a major money maker for me. I'll put this thread on my watch list and report back if it happens.

I got an NPC hounty of $7000 because I stole my own car from my mechanic who stepped out of the car & decided to get back in & drive off -__-

I think that's the purpose. Force you into saving up and buying personal vehicles so you don't have to deal with that all the time.

This is one of those things that I'll never understand why people defend.

It was a stupid idea. Getting bounties from actual online players was good enough, this just turned into a nuisance.

This is one of the biggest examples of how they could have made GTA Online a lot better by asking the question "Would this be fun in single player?"

About the soccer mom, its like saying that is unrealistic how wanted system works, police should look for you like forever.

Implementing a punishment for stealing a car when your game is called "Grand Theft Auto".

 

It's difficult to get past that stupid idea.

 

You could even get bounties by doing too many gang attacks. It's dumb.

No it should be kept. Yes this is grand THEFT AUTO. Why should there be no repercussions for theft though? I will agree its highly unrealistic, this is also a game. Most things in this game are unrealistic. To me it mixes things up a bit. Instead of doing your usual thing (whatever that may be) you become the hunted. The best part about that is the options R* have given us to play with. Stand your ground, run and evade, hide. If you really want just stand there, be owned and get it over with. We have PV's available to us in seconds most the time, truckloads of ammo and weapons in our pocket and this huge playground at our disposal. Enjoy it I say.

Now for those that stuck around to read. I find if you jack someone from their ride but dont get in straight away, waiting five to ten seconds before getting in the car avoids bounties. Sometimes not an option I know, but I have never had a bounty with this method myself.
