I feel somewhat bad for those glitchers who like to have fun, and help extend gameplay. Because I can't defend them anymore. I'm just worried.

 

I am actually worried about the angle of this game. It's GTA ONLINE. It sounds amazing, and it could've been. But I guess we'll never know unless R* pulls a miracle.

 

It's a damn shame too. A great idea that COULD'VE ADDED MORE CITYS, A MASSIVE WORLD got ruined by some immature modding pricks.

 

I guess that's where my whole beef comes into it. Just a great experience to be had getting ruined because some people feel more entilted than others. Nice.

It's still an amazing game dude. Even when the DNS servers were all over the place you didn't run into serious bad modders all the time. Now it's very rare. Seen one since the hotfix and simply left him be after putting 6 sniper shots in his skull to no effect. I've never been gifted money and never been griefed to an extent it effects me. I have the choice to do something or leave. Let R* at least try as the game is still relatively new and they want this to last. Enjoy it for what it is and seriously it can be fun :)

with out understanding how hackers and the like do there sh*t. from what people have said on here some of these people have to have hacked xbox's wich as far as i know microsoft will ban that xbox system (i dont know about the account).

I'm pretty sure it's possible for them to ban players by hardware identification (not sure on the specifics of how this works) instead of just a PSN/XBL account ban so they won't be able to circumvent it by creating a new account. I don't think it's severe enough from R*'s point of view to take those measures just yet, so for now it's just the cheater's pool. The major issue with taking any kind of serious measures like this or other harsher punishments is a lot of people would likely be getting unjustly banned like we saw with the whole gifted money fiasco a few weeks ago.

 

Yes! Call the video game police and arrest these hoodlums, lmao

 

It's easy to make light of the whole situation but the fact of the matter is modders and glitchers are ruining the game's true potential and setting back content that we likely could have had weeks ago, if not sooner, and are forcing it's programmers to focus on those issues when they could be working on expanding the game and giving us new content.

If it wasn't for these hackers, R* could have patched out the glitches and have released Heists and start on other new content. Now they're just trying to fix all thats ruined by hackers and they keep on coming with only 1 intension, which is ruining the game, like they did with all other games.

 

Hackers really are the lamest kind of people.

Oh, believe me. I still do.

 

Going around with a Marston character is fun just because of that aspect alone to me. I actually have been having more fun, since I switched my 10 car apartment to a six carage apartment due to location. I'm now near a bmx park, pool, the oriental movie theater, the tattoo parlor. There's alot more action my way now. I'm near my favorite sniping point.

 

I'm actually on now, riding my bike around the skate park near my house. Might try to ramp it into the pool. I still have fun. Just the future worries me.

what i'm saying is that it is out of rockstars hands, microsoft will just lock the xbox if they know about it/find it.

Thinking in terms of "if it wasn't for" is pointless. Fact is, if someone can, they will. While we might hate the truth, we all know that some people just don't give a f*ck. Simple solution is to fix it, ban them, and move on. All players who decide to cheat should be bricked. Anything less is just lame.

Pretty much the situation at the moment, even Rockstar has given up on saying "soon" now.

 

And that's exactly what hackers are. They aren't scary, they aren't dangerous, they're just lame. Just like that annoying guy shouting down his phone during a bus journey.

Microsoft now ban associated gamertags with modded consoles. It used to just be a console ban. Rather than reporting to Rockstar I'd suggest you take proof and report them to Microsoft, they usually ban at the first sign of console flashing.

It is one thing to modify content and hack for you and your friends own personal use, but when it affects other people, and you know it does, you become something else entirely. Basically just a piece of sh*t who deserves whatever is coming to them. I have no problem with people manipulating/modding/hacking for themselves and others who want to be a part of it. Just keep it to yourselves away from everybody else or you should be BANNED FOREVER!

Because they're lazy and they put almost zero security in their game, and also keep most files accessible in plain text.

I think on that tip, Microsoft needs to amend certification to require publishers to actively monitor for and report on the types of game activity that are blatantly against the TOS. The "DNS" thing isn't a problem because someone changed DNS settings. It's against the TOS because of what's at the other end of that new IP you just plugged in.

 

To the inevitable, "you're playing a game about being the best criminal possible, I should get to cheat!". Well ok, that's fine. R* and MS get to be homeland security and make you stand with your nose in the corner for a good long while with no trial as soon as they catch you, if you want to play it that way. There's a very good reason we're not all criminals IRL, even if some stuff looks tempting...

Breach of contract is illegal. It's a civil matter. XBL TOU is a legally binding contract. You breached it. That's not legal. It's not "criminal", but it isn't legal. As a legit player, I can understand what you're saying (this post being directed to the OP), but in my opinion, hacking will never reach its end. With endless hacks these days, I'm pretty sure nothing will ever get solved.

 

It's pretty much here to stay, you're just going to have to work around somehow, crappy as that might sound

Depends on what you mean by "the law". The police? yeah, no, that's not worth it. Asserting legal rights to console ban people for hacking? Not absurd in the slightest.

 

The only way you minimize this is by making it really expensive to continue doing. If someone wants to drop several hundred dollars on a console every other day, then I guess they can keep on hacking... For everyone else, that's going to be a deterrent.

Some people can read coding and make modifications. Wow, they are so hacker l33t. Pretty sure the developers pay experts who can hack much better than these people. Hackers will always exist just like criminals, but so will the experts that are paid to stop them. It's up to the developers to stop them, which they can. If a squeeker can find a youtube video, anyone can, so these hacks are easy to identify and just take time to patch. The hackers don't take over until the devs abandon the game.
