I've noticed that many people are angry at R* for removing them, and they will come back, but why is it such a popular vehicle? Does it have a lot of customization options? Is it fast?

Nothing really. It was really ugly, rusty, slow...

 

People just wanted it because it was rare. When r* releases it for free none of them will want it anymore because deep down inside they are all a bunch of hipsters

It was a unique vehicle that happened to be a rare spawn and have a lot of customization options.

 

It's not the fact that it was popular, it's the fact that Rockstar took away quite a few perfectly legitimate vehicles for absolutely no reason such as the Ratloader, the Seminole, and the Clean Rebel. That's why everyone was so upset, because it was wrong of Rockstar to take them.

It's rare I think has a good deal to do with it, but not everything.

 

I think the funny thing about me that I've noticed is that there have been a number of occasions where I've been all excited about getting a car because it's rare. Then, with only a couple of exceptions (the Tailgater and F620.), I always end up getting rid of it because I never drive it. I dig that some people may have liked the look of it and that not everyone drives supercars. I totally agree and think that's cool.

 

However, getting something that is rare for the sake of being rare, in my experience (other people are different), has almost always lead me to get rid of it not that long after because I'm not driving it.

Seriously, I get that most people's garages look like someone played Need for Speed and got himself locked to Tier 1 because he can't race normal cars. It's fine. Not everyone races.

 

But some people like cars besides Entity/Adder/nobody-cares and Coquette/Elegy/nobody-cares-either.

You sure about that? I cant seem to find a single damn quickrace that isnt supercars, and then 75% of those races are driving in circles around the prison. The matchmaking system in this game sucks. There needs to be a block function, if only to block out "Criminal Records"

It's irritating that people think that because it's not a supercar, it makes them some kind of automotive fan. I have a few different types of cars in my garage, and none of them are pieces of sh*t. I guess I don't know sh*t about cars.

A vehicle doesn't have to be 'good' for people to like it. The simple minded squeakers with adders and entities that hang out in the city can do their thing, but some people like to take it slow and drive different vehicles. The Rat Loader is different, people that have it because it's 'rare' never drive it. You never saw people use them. It was wrongly removed and the small crowd of people that actually appreciate the vehicle will keep it for more than 3 days. (Looking at the beach bum pack cars and seeing the same thing incoming)

No idea, I've never really been a ratloader person, but I guess some people liked the look of it.

 

On the subject of trucks, I would love Rockstar to add a legit tow truck. Always loved picking up cars with it in SP, and it could make for some good honest fun if it came without the very extreme, strange lag associated with the little truck.

or if rockstar just put in that panel truck from gta4. its the same truck minus the tow rig.

 

any word on when the rat loaders are coming? or is that like the heists and rockstar keeps saying soon.
