I've never been a fan of the Dominator.

 

yea i would take advice from someone who paints evey car they have kifflom blue and uses custom tires....

Without reading any of the comments in this thread, I'm going to be original and preempt all the smart-asses by saying "Vigero". I am so glad that no one has chimed in and given an answer other than the 2 mentioned in the OP. I feel like everyone reading this post is laughing at my originality and spontaneity. So glad I thought to name a car other than the Dominator or the Guantlet before anyone else. Now it's time to go through and read the comments.

I like the Vigero but I wanted a more modern looking muscle car. I also saw a Ruiner riding around and made that mine as well. Half my garage is muscle cars now.

I've got both but I have to say the Gaunlet is better. The thing is can take a fair beting and handles really well. A troll cargobobbed mine to a reasonable height and dropped it. Intstead of finding a burnout wreck, I found a pretty mangled mess that still worked.

but then again, it seems by running you mean in a straight line? why not just confuse them and ditch them quicker?

That's what turbo tuning is for. I put on my muscles and leave it off the super cars.

The dominator is faster...but the gauntlet is better with turns. I was up at the Sandy Shores airfield drag racing with some friends and my dominator won every straight drag race no problem. I was up against a gauntlet, pheonix, sabre, buccaneer, franklin's buffalo, and another dominator someone picked up off the street. Frank's buffalo usually followed in second, then the gauntlet. However when we started taking the left turn I started getting beaten by the gauntlet.

 

Other than just pure speed, the customization on it trumps the gauntlet's, It's my go to car for muscle races, and it's been in my garage since the day my character stopped falling victim to the cloud.

I wish they'd put Superchargers in as alternate to turbo, because putting a turbocharger on a muscle car just feels wrong.

Of the two I'd take the Gauntlet. Dominator is a menace to drive since it slides even on the simplest of corners. Add rainy weather and you'll be spinning your tires for a minute while your enemy is long gone. Just wish the Gauntlet had some better customization options. The Dominator has more but they're pretty cheesy IMO.

But seriously the Vigero is eh to me. I like having a car which only a few can drive well with.

 

Tailgater is slow as molasses.

 

The Schafter is better in ever aspect except handling. Tailgater looks great, but like I said the acceleration and top speed are poor. Great cruising vehicle, but I would never take it on a mission.

On topic: Dominator. It might be a little difficult to control at first but, looks nicer, more customization, sounds better, and a lot more fun.

For racing I would use the Gauntlet because it can turn easily without drifting. For looks I would get the Sabre Turbo b/c it has the best customization. Personaly I love the Buccaneer. It looks the good and holds its own in races. 1 out of 50 races is a muscle car race. Most racing I've randomly joind have been super or sports cars.

 

Best thing to do is go in story mode and try doing the Commute race. There's always traffic too so you'll see which car is the best all around car. That's what I do.

Dominator is one of the best looking cars in the game, kept mine since day 1. Have it lime green and black.

For a long time my garage was full of Muscle cars- Sabre, Gauntlet and Dominator. Gauntlet was my first car and I loved it but after a while I found I used the other two more and more- Gauntlet eventually replaced by my Phoenix.

In answer to your question I'd go with Dominator- it sounds and looks great and as I drive it a lot I'm starting to learn how to handle it better, but in a lot of missions that require a getaway/chase of some description I do find myself wishing I was in my Sentinel as I swerve uncontrollably around that corner towards that indestructable wooden post...
