I dont remember, but I do think R* said that there wont be any expansion packs for GTA V like TBOGT and TLAD for GTA IV. I am not frustrated, but I would love to atleast have 1. What do you guys think

R* is not the next EA.

Anyway, they said there wouldn't be any on the scale of TBOGT and TLAD, so there still may be expansion packs but they'd just add more stuff instead of introducing entire storylines.

I would like that. A lot.

But i doubt they will actually do it.

Rockstar have stated that there is going to be more content but that it wont be in the same size as the expansions to GTA IV. I expect a lot more content to Multiplayer and if you're lucky you may get some scraps for singleplayer.

Expect 3 cars and 2 weapons for $10.

Thats just most games companies in a nutshell

GTA IV's episodes were a great concept and done well but the economics didn't work out. The development time for both of them was like half of a whole new game and they realized there's such a thing as DLC being too big. People are used to DLC being small so if you do a big one nobody but hard core fans notices and it doesn't make enough money to justify it.

Exactly,Great Comment.and again people tend to forget that the Episodes were counted(added)to the GTA Franchise Website as games same is London 1969.but yeah i would actually love to mini storyline even if there are not like the Episodes.

I've elaborated on this on a similar topic owned by me, but if you must know my opinion then yes. Because Rockstar came out with episodic DLC packs and spin offs and mission packs for all GTAs except for GTA 2 it is definetly possible but not certain because the GTA Online effect comes into play. There is like an entire game in GTA Online topps and it would not be fair to Rockstar to have their money machine sabotaged by an episodic pack for a couple of days while people play it, but it is possible.

They already confirmed a Single Player DLC scheduled for 2014, involving Michael, Trevor and Franklin.

what about all that research rockstar did on gang culture? Also didnt they get real life gangsters to voice some of the characters like lamar?

I didn't see much of the gangster aspect in gta so R* must be saving that stuff for dlc.

lol Lamar's voice actor isn't/wasn't a gangster, he's just an actor.

Actually, why don't you ask him personally. http://gtaforums.com/topic/596108-amazing-thank-you-all-lamar-loves-you/page-12

Coming in 2014
Expect big things in both Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V next year including:
GTA Online Heists. We know many of you in the GTA Online community are super excited for the debut of co-operative Heists. Heists are currently in development and we are working very hard to get them as polished and as fun as they can be. Stay tuned for much more detail in the New Year.
GTAV Story Mode Updates. For those ready to jump back into the story of Grand Theft Auto V, we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas.
Hey, listen, don't EVER trust Rockstar to NOT deliver. They told us Liberty City Stories wouldn't come out for Playstation 2. That was a lie. They told us Vice City Stories wouldn't come out for Playstation 2. And THAT was a lie.

You are really retarded, EA doesn't give away stuff for free and they don't fix patches (When they do, they do it as poorly and as cheaply as they can), Rockstar Fixes patches and Gives away Free stuff.Just because Rockstar made really good money off of GTA V, doesn't make them a evil, greedy corporation..You have failed at making a Hater Comment....

Where and when exactly did Rockstar directly state they wont be making episodic titles for GTA V?

On 9th December 2013 Rockstar confirmed on their official newswire site:

"For those ready to jump back into the story of Grand Theft Auto V, we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas."

Sounds like whatever they are planning, its not going to be small.

But, they also said with GTA V players can now expect them to bring new titles and the work on content picking pace up for early release than before. That'll be happening with GTA VI.

What's your pick expansion packs or a new GTA?

I prefer this over an expansion pack like GTA IV had. I wanted the helicopter with missiles... but that's all I wanted. I didn't care about getting a story mode... and I wasn't going to pay $20 (or $15, whatever it was) just to have a helicopter that should have been included with the original game. I have never played either of the GTA IV expansion packs, and I am PROUD to write that.

I liked how Just Cause did their DLC. They gave you like 3-4 things for a couple of dollars. I would pay $2 for 4 new items.... if they are 4 items I want. I just don't want to pay $15 for a story mode I don't care about just to get ONE vehicle I like.

For example, I wouldn't have paid $2 for the beach stuff (3 land vehicles and glass bottle)... But if they are new items I really want, then I would pay $2

It was not just the extra story mode that made TBOGT a worthy purchase, it introduced parachuting (along with challenges), new FUN minigames, weapons like sticky bombs and a real cool devestating explosive shotgun. Plus it gave us the brillinat APC NOOSE Tank....which you could have delivered to where ever you are by just merely calling someone to drive it out to you.

It gave us some brilliant new races like where you would parachute out a chopper, swim to a boat, race to the shore and then get in a sports car (complete with nitro boost abilities) and race around the city against other npc characters.

To sum it all up....TBOGT actually put FUN into GTA IV, something the base game was in short supply of.

Yeah they'll release DLC for the story but there won't be full on episodic games like EFLC. If you feel me ?

They had unbelievable high expecions from the episodes.

I really dont know why R* did complain, most of the budget for production was covered by Microsoft's small exclusivity deal plus they were able to sell on other platforms later.

They should have known that if you release content first via download they would have missed a big chunk of the GTA's fanbase, which is still mostly people who rarely connect their console with internet.

You mean like the free Beach Bum DLC, which offered for free 3 vehicles and 2 weapons for MP and SP and also added free extra customization options and missions to online for free?

That guys statement is an EPIC FAIL 2014 #1 Edition.how the f*ck are they like E.A? Yeah GTA 5 earned 1bn in

milk to death,it a 16 years old Franchise and it only have 15 game not even saying that we just got GTA 5 instead of GTA 16 and some franchise like GTA that also started in the 90s have like 20/30 games take for example E.A's Need For Speed which started in 1994(3 years before GTA started)had like 20-something Games same is Tekken and Mortal Kombat and Even Resident Evil.If you dont know what to say just S-T-F-U.

you f*cking Twat,we didnt know you suck E.A dicks.

Single player DLC were never ruled out, it's just that they won't introduce two whole new characters with a multiple-hour story to play through.
