Do you 'click' on Internet advertising?

I'm talking about banners, popups, emails, etc that are across the Internet?

For the life of me I can't understand how websites make money from advertising. I have been surfing the web for 14 years now, and I can count the times I have intentionally clicked on an advertisement on one hand. As for unintentional/accidental clicks, those happen less than once a month, and those alone still can't account for significance to the website owners.

So how often do YOU click on them, specifically banners on webpages?

No, never. I barely pay attention to them, well, if attractive women are in them.. I might take a look.

Never, even if I could see them I wouldn't click them. But I have adblock plus so they're not a bother to me.

Ads on the internet? They still have those?

I've been spoiled by AdBlock. Seeing an ad anymore is like finding bigfoot to me.

I do, especially those with beautiful women, if only for the chance of there being a bigger picture on the link, but only if the link says something like: "If you're a gamer you won't believe this!", "Don't let your girlfriend see this!"

and "f*ck TEENAGE SLUTS FOR FREE"

My PC is full of viruses though.

I never click on them, seeing as it'll either give me a virus or try to scam me out of something. Alongside that, I'm not sure how anybody can fall for such obvious scams like these:

The kind of people who go on an internet forum are not the kind of people who the ads get clicked by.

These kind of people are the ones who type google in the search bar for IE which bings google, clicks on google, then types facebook. Or click 'yes' or 'confirm' on literally any pop-up that appears on their screen. These are the people who click on the sponsored ads on google (that appear as the first result) when typing in, say, itunes and download some shift software that puts viruses on their computer, and not notice.

These are the people, who when told by something on the screen to click for whatever reason, click it. Then follow all the instructions, sometimes even for credit card information.

These people are known as computer-illiterates and they make up a majority of the people who use the internet. Yeah...

Did you see the one about the roulette bot and the stock market ones?

The narrators in those advertisements are hilarious.

It's like a scam as big as finallyfast.com

I'm a proud Adblocker user since September.

Seriously, one f*cking popup ad gave me lockscreen virus and Youtube videos were impossible to load because ads were more important. Before, I used to click on ads but mostly by accident since they either pop out just when I'm clicking or when I moved mouse away and left-clicked an ad.

Still happens to me though on the phone. My phone's screen is too small and when I try to click on the 4 squares icon onn the forum (it's the menu for PM's, Notif's, Search, etc.), I usually end up clicking some stock market ad.

I never click advertisements. I really don't even pay attention to them. Clicking on ads will most likely cause a virus on your device, anyways.

Never, I remember when I was "new" to the internet I still didn't click any ads, it's common sense.

I used to play those little popup ad games, like "punch George Dubyah in the face to win a free xbox" when I was a kid; I knew not to do anything more than play them though. (And that was probably too much, those things were/are real sketchy, and my mom's computer wasn't exactly locked down back then.)

Now I block ads. If they weren't so ridiculously unstable and prone to crashing flash then I wouldn't mind keeping them unblocked, but the world isn't perfect. And I do keep ads enabled for sites I visit regularly that don't have problems like that.

ads? What is this? Television? Nope, I am a proud user of AdBlock. Haven't seen an add in the longest time although I have to admit I do miss some of them.

I did, often, because they said I would win free iPad.

And later on, some hot girls wanted to date me in my area...

I was almost tempted to click on an ad for a sugar mommy here on the site.

No I never click on ads. I don't even pay any attention to them, unless of coarse, there's a blaring loud voice screaming "You've Got Mail" whenever I hover my mouse over some messenger ad. Sometimes I hover my mouse over it a few times by mistake... Not cool if my speaker volume is louder than it's supposed to be

Most ads on this site tend to be about either dating Muslims and Russians, or cures for baldness.

Naturally as a single Chechen with alopecia, I find myself constantly fighting the temptation to click.

Hmm, No, Never clicked ads, But I did respond to the Nigerian Prince who wants to give me his money, Y'know dumb kids on the internet, I was excited, Here I thought "this man is going to give me money, All he needs are my Banking info and credit card details" Of which I had neither..

Fun times.
