7 times, each time it was 100%, also, don't bump the topic if only 10 minutes passed after you made it.

Topic starter how do you know you've completed the game 42 times ? Do you keep a record in a book/ note pad ? i'm not asking in a jerk/ smart ass way. i'm just curious because I have no idea how many times I've completed it

I know for a fact I've played it more then ten times but that's as much info I can give you in terms of how many times I've beat the story.... I know I've played throw it a lot.. Keep in mind It takes me 40+ hours to complete a playthrow........... Yeah I've played it a lot. I don't know the game word for word but i'm getting close to reaching that point. I can remember everything that happens in the game because I've played it to death. Don't get me wrong I still love the game but I've played it to the point I know the game inside and out.

Algonquin Assassin

2 times. On PS3 to get both endings. It's actually been about 5 years since I finished GTA IV, but I've started a heap of new saves. Though I never commit myself to finish them. I just love to start over to get the experience of arriving in the city and trying to settle in. Never gets old.

:O Really? 2 times? Wow, I'm astonished.

I dunno how many times I beat the story, lost count after the 100th time.

Yeah..

I rarely finish a game more than 2/3 times. It's just not my thing.

I'm in the middle of my 6th play through.

It's been fun, but this will probably be my last play through.

I'd definitely suggest you to start a brand new game and finish it "to the ground" (even 100% if you have to balls for 200 pigeons), I mean, damn 5 years.

You gotta refresh your memory so you can remember, how awesome this game is. :D

Even do Roman's Taxi missions (there are only 10), they're pretty interesting and there's a tiny bit of dialogue too.

14 times. Nine of them were 100%. Planning on doing it one last time.

I just recently bought a new PS3 and am playing GTA IV on each one. So at the moment I am on my 4th and 5th play throughs. I am over half way through on the 4th and still playing around on the first island on the new install.

GTA IV, 2 times, one time was with executing every story character that was possible during a mission and for the Revenge ending, second time was leaving story characters alive when It gave you a chance to let them live and for the Deal ending.

I finished it two times for both endings. I sometimes feel like starting a new save again, but I just can't get past the fact that it runs like sh*t on the PS3 and that the story kinda drags during the middle.

If I ever get a good PC, I'll definitely play the sh*t out of it.

Must have finished it half a dozen times at 100% (once a year since release), but I've lost count of just how many times I've played the story through (in addition to some of the side missions) - must be at least a dozen. I never seem to tire of repeating the story, it's the most solidly written and intricate plot that R* have given us in any GTA (I'm not considering RDR). The sense of wonder and the atmosphere of the docks as Niko first arrives in the city never ceases to get old, and the first quarter of the game in Broker, as Niko finds his feet, is my favourite part. Autumn in Liberty City, the rusty colours everywhere, the sunlight filtering through the haze, nothing in any of the other games (not even GTAV) comes close. I (or rather Niko) can spend hours walking around Broker and Dukes without getting bored, the city has personality and a myriad of styles, something that makes me wish to immerse myself in that world. I'm still discovering new areas in that world and it will keep drawing me back as long as my 360 holds out and replacement consoles will be available. I really can't say the same for V. Played through it at 100% once, and I have no wish to go back there; I don't feel anything for the characters, the city feels an empty shell (an accusation that's been levelled at IV) and less alive than LC, and the ghastly driving and damage physics prevent me from just messing around in V.

I'm going back there right now. LC has become like a second home to me.

I've beat this lovely games countless times! I really can't keep track on how many playthroughs, but I sure have enjoyed every single one of them.

Thinking of playing again soon, after playing GTA 5 for so long maybe playing 4 would feel... New?

Way more than any other game, probably 13 times or so.. 50/50 PS3 and PC, and once on the 360
