Frank Brown
... Do you prefer CNN, Fox, MSNBC, BBC? Non-mainstream media? If so, what? Do you dabble in all different kinds? Newspapers, TV shows, radio? For me it's usually CNN and WSJ, with the occasional independent report thrown in, as well as local news articles. trip
philly.com I actually just shared this article (from today) elsewhere here at GTAF. Here is why I live in this city: From today's news 'Swiss Cheese Pervert' terrorizes Mayfair I tend to avoid most news outlets aside from the one for where I live(mentioned above). At work I have yahoo as my start page and that is where I get my headline news from. I'm not sure I would count Huffington Post as a news outlet, but I did used to actively hang there until they became all AOL like and I started to see Oprah's fat face showing up there. Ignorance is bliss. News is usually bad news, and I think I half trained myself to ignore it. Still, I like to be lightly informed. Display_0
If I'm ever watching the news it'll be BBC (UK). You won't find me reading newspapers. And If I'm reading off the internet it will be some random news story I clicked on that looked interesting or is a story making headlines everywhere that I heard about so I might search and click on the first link (Which is likely BBC). trip
Is that Mayor Rob Ford? That question actually showed up in the comments section attached to the article. The comments are why I read half the sh*t on philly.com Here is another/better shot of him that was taken by some chick who he offered the cheese and sex bit he is into. *This story just broke today. 20 bucks says you all get to hear about him via whatever news outlet you use soon enough. Kiffster
News24, which is a SAfrican online news service, but it's also an interactive channel on tv in my country, updated almost every 5 or so minutes. We also have CNN, BBC, Sky News, Euro News, NDTV (Indian), RT (Russia), Al Jazeera, CCTV News (Chinese) and a few other local and international channels. I don't really watch any of them though (maybe sometimes). News24 is so much better with so much more news and always up to date.

GTA_stu
The BBC, or some losers call it: "The Beeb". I always watch the Beeb's 24 hour news channel. Often I just have it on as background; I'm like one of those lonely depressed pensioner. I read the website a lot too, visit that multiple times per day. WinterEdit
I tend to go to a Finnish site first. If you want to know what it is, it is called Ilta-Sanomat (roughly translated Evening News) and it's reliable enough, even though it is a site for a tabloid. I sometimes go to CNN, if I want to know more about stuff. Because it's possibly the largest news-related site around, I go there first if I want to see more stuff, I admit. Back on my holiday at Cape Verde I tended to watch Euronews more than CNN from TV. Maybe because it felt more European. I do not know.

DeafMetal
American English-speaking news is so biased it's laughable. I usually get my news from Telemundo or Univision, as when they are putting their own beliefs on the air, they make it obvious it's an opinion, and 99% of the time they will always explore both sides of an issue, even if it's firmly against the Latino community. They did an interview with Joe Arpaio a few months ago and it was handled beautifully. They were respectful, but they asked firm questions and got right to the point. They've also got some of the best journalists I've ever seen: Jorge Ramos being an example. The only American, English-speaking sources of news I ever check out are The Onion and The Colbert Report, which is pretty ridiculous when you think about it, but making fun of something usually reveals everything that's wrong with it. I think The Daily Show, while funny, is a little too left-leaning compared to Colbert who likes to make fun of everything. Didn't something happen with Stratfor regarding Wikileaks a year or two ago? I swear I remember that. Yeah, the subscriber database was hacked via SQL injection and several thousand people's credit card details, including my own, were stolen. The person who hacked them also managed to get access to one of their email servers via lateral movement and dumped a load of confidential emails between the consulting arm of Stratfor and some of their defence and business clients. WBaker
My goto is AP news and Reuters. For the most part news peddlers have cut down on their independent collection of information and just recycle those news sources. For the liberal spin on the story I'll watch msnbc or cnn and for the conservative spin, and often a good laugh at their ridiculousness, FoxNews.
