I have no interest in Multiplayer

  1. 1. Do you prefer Singleplayer over Multiplayer?

There is nothing wrong with Online, but I just don't like MP in GTA. Singleplayer has always been my favourite

Prefer single player myself when it comes to GTA V, as well as any GTA title, as well.

Have played a little of GTA: Online and it's alright - however I seem to get bored of it after a short while of playing it and always switch back into the single player, which I personally get much more enjoyment out of.

GTA has always been a single player focused game, and GTA V is no different in this regard.

While I enjoyed Multiplayer a lot before the glitches, I would never want it instead of single player. I like being able to play with friends, and my uncle, and my crew. I like to have friends to fight off the cops with, and people to kill for money (bounties.) To be completely honest, the free roam portion of single player in V is kind of garbage to me. I loved all of them, except V. I feel they put too much effort in multiplayer and too little in V. I want to be able to store more vehicles, and to insure them. Not to mention; I beat the game, and Michael is poor as heck. I can't even finish buying the properties like the movie theater's and Golf Club. We need more ways to make money, and possibly more vehicles, clothes, and properties to buy. That's just my opinion.

I love single player but I do get on multiplayer with a friend once a week or so and we cannot help ourselves if we see other players on the street. Most of the time the other players aren't too much higher or lower level and random grudge kills can be great fun.

We did see a level 299 the other night though.

Yes, I prefer single-player over multiplayer. Without question.

If GTA got rid of MP altogether, I would not even bat an eyelid.

THIS.

I like both. They can however improve the online mode, but no worries there since we are getting heists and mission creators which will make it epic.

Honestly, after completing the story and finding collectibles who gives a f*ck about sinngleplayer? Why do people like Single Player so much?

Lol, go play with your chrome tank in Online, bye.

Why are you arguing and acting so pathetic? He asked a question. No need to be a douche bag about it. I prefer online better. The only reason I like online is because Rockstar have improved it. More characters, loads of missions.. and you can level up and become the wealthiest. Owning a huge apartment and garage is awesome online. You can share it with your friends. You can drink booze, smoke and rob grocery stores. That's just awesome. Although online has several disadvantages, I believe single player can become boring too fast. Once you finish the missions and have boosted the relationship statuses between your friends, it's mainly about free roaming and doing unofficial stuff. To be honest - Both are great.

Topic title 'I have no interest in multiplayer' itself is improper and quite biased with no option to choose both.

The way OP has presented the poll in his own opinion leans more towards his personal preference.

Whether one likes it or not, the fact is it's going to stay.

I love single player a lot but it's not right to side line online completely as lots more interesting updates are pending.

Singleplayer, wish they expanded single player even more and ditched multiplayer. Maybe gta vi will have that.

Just ditch MP, GTA is meant to be a SP only game...and a good one at that.

If you want to play MP with mindless shooting and trolling, play Call of Duty.

I don't know, how about it giving players more freedom than online could ever hope.

In SP you have the luxury of actually PAUSING the game! I guess I have to explain what pausing is to the "Online iz da fyoochure" crowd. Pausing is the ability to stop your game to take a break without quitting or leaving your so called "servers". You learn a thousand things everyday you young whipper snappers.

In all seriousness there are even more things that give you freedom, like using cheats, not being disturbed by some annoying screaming 12 year old and allowing yourself to be fully immersed. Plus you could hack and edit your cars and money without anybody giving a damn because the money in single player isn't actually worth anything. Which brings me to my final reason, which is you don't get paywalled into buying cash cards with real money just to actually enjoy the damn game!

To all the people saying: "SP got GTA where it is today!"

Well...no sh*t. Any game before the MP times got that franchise where it is today.

Halo - it is a stretch, but the only way you could get MP was through LAN, so I'm counting it.

CoD - As far as I can remember, didn't have multiplayer when it came out.

Any game that came out pre-multiplayer and is still going.

Look, if you're gonna have a successful game nowadays, you're gonna need multiplayer (Excluding the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, since multiplayer in those games are just improbable. And even then, ESO!)

That being said, R* hasn't exactly gotten into the groove of their own MP experience yet. You can definitely tell they've never done anything like this before by how broken it is.

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt, though, and give them some more time to fix it, because MP is hella fun when with friends, and sometimes more fun when RPing by yourself.

50/50 for me.

Maybe there is a message being sent here. The message being that GTA is simply not the kind of game that is perfectly suited to such a massive, sophisticated, advanced, and complex online mode. What Rockstar was trying to achieve with GTA V was just over-ambitious, they bit off more than they could chew and it's kinda blown up in their face.

There is nothing wrong with GTA V having online, but since it's main strength is in the SP, Rockstar should have made a simple MP mode instead of the grand project they embarked on. This could have possibly meant that the SP experience would more than likely have been focused on and created much better than it currently stands now.

I think we should give them more time before completely writing off Online as a failure yet. As you know, we haven't even gotten all the features in Online yet (Heists).

Plus, I still don't think SP suffered that much, if at all, because of MP. You wouldn't be able to fit much more into the game with the hardware the current consoles have. I mean, the game already goes under 30 FPS frequently.

I'm willing to bet that if GTA 5 was on Xbox One and PS4, it'd be completely different, which is why I'm excited for the potential of GTA 6.

But I do know what you are saying. If they wanted to make GTA: Online they envisioned it, they should've done it more slowly and worked its way up.

I actually don't mind Gta having multiplayer. My only issue is that the multiplayer affects the singleplayer portion of the game. That, in my opinion, is going too far.

I like both, though I've done most things you can do in single player so I usually stick to Online. I usually play in private sessions with my friends, so I'm not bothered much by hackers.

You are entitled to your own subjective opinion, and if that's what you think, then fine. But I don't know man, I can't say I agree with that, as do many other GTA fans, on here at least. A great many people do believe that the SP in GTA V was compromised and lacking in certain areas, and with good reason. I honestly don't believe it was a hardware issue either - I reckon Rockstar could have done even more if they wanted to. I just think Rockstar once again misjudged their priorities and overlooked areas that needed improvement.

Oh, the SP was definitely lacking in some areas, there's no arguing that, but I just don't think it had much to do with MP.

I don't really have an opinion on this yet. I've only tried multiplayer a few times and my internet is slow soooo... meh. I think single player is R*'s biggest strength and I was very disappointed by the limitations put on it without some sort of online interactivity. I also haven't fully explored either mode of gameplay nor looked at the disc data. On my play-through, I just went through the motions analytically and didn't really PLAY yet. I was more interested in seeing what was included, what's missing, and what could be added to make the game much more fun.

No one can say for sure if MP affected the fact that SP was lacking in many areas in the game. But base on the current situation it does make it logical to assume that if Rockstar had focused more on the SP and did not make such an over-ambitious attempt at the MP, there is a strong chance that the SP would have been much better.

It is only based on a probability, so it's obviously not factual.

I voted for SP as I'm old enough to have been playing GTA since the first incarnation back in the day and GTA has ALWAYS been about the SP storyline.

Whilst V's story might not have been as strong as some previous releases, I do understand that MP Online is where the world is moving to these days (along with bloody Microtransactions and DLC that is already on the freakin disk!!) but for me GTA should always remain a Single Player driven IP.

I do play Online and have got my character up to level 104 to date but I can honestly say I don't find it as engaging as the SP.

Single player is better because that how I used to always play it and I can't change my opinion because I base all my opinions on past experiences, as if I shouldn't even try to expand the way I play games.

MP is hell of a lot more fun if you have friends, it seems like OP has none.

I think the reason why SP feels a bit downwards is because the story itself went kind of downwards halfway through. And the possible cut content or not enough features put in.

I'm not an online player. It's never appealed to me. Of course, I, as many of you, grew up in the days where you sit in the same room with the person you're playing against, or with, and that was a hell of a lot of fun. Online will never replicate how fun it was.
