I wonder if R* is implementing Mantel into GTA? And that is what is taking so long.... It would be really nice if that is the reason for this extended delay.

 

Doubt it. Mantle is AMD proprietary tech, and a statement from a few months ago suggests NVIDIA partnered with R* for GTA V as one of their "The Way It's Meant to Be Played" titles. And if that's the case, the PC version will have NVIDIA optimization, and maybe TXAA or something like that.

I just rebought RDR for the PS3 two days ago and man is it still amazing. This time I bought the GOTY edition since it has Undead Nightmare with it which I never played. I feel so sorry for you pc gamers that you will never play this majestic game unfortunately and probably neither the future editions since R* San Diego doesn't do pc versions of their games .

 

I played RDR. A lot of "PC gamers" own consoles too you know...just saying. And yeah, the game is amazing.

how about we infiltrate to the Rockstar HQ and steal their information regarding GTAV PC version from there, i think it's the final solution for now.

Well from this thread I kept reading that consoles are sh*t and the PC master race would never touch a dirty console so I figured that most people that post here have not played the game since they play mostly on PC .

Red Dead Redemption was never expected to be a success which was the reason it never got a PC port. Rockstar themselves said it was not possible but they said they said that they had not abandoned the PC platform, they even said that they did listen to the fans comments for PC version and a job listing in June said that Rockstar Leeds (The company that ported GTA IV to PC) were hiring new people to bring the latest Rockstar blockbuster games to PC. At that time GTA V was the only announced Rockstar game along with Agent (but that was already confirmed to be a PS3 exclusive) so it obviously means that nearly all new Rockstar titles are coming to PC. In other words GTA V and the next unannounced Red Dead will come to PC, the former having a 100% chance while the latter has a 90% chance of making it.

 

The thing is Rockstar are getting carried away with Online at the moment but they will have to stop at one point due to the consoles limitations. They've added so much content to online which is running on hardware with a mere memory capacity of 256 mb, combine that with the SP content and the DLC, they are pushing or they have already pushed the limits of the current-gen consoles.

 

At first I was skeptical about a NG version but now it seems viable. Yes, Rockstar are not usually the type of guys to jump on the NG boat but it's different this time around. Not like the transition period between the 6th to the 7th gen consoles. At that time the Xbox 360 and the PS3 did not release together, the Xbox 360 hit stores in 2005 and the PS3 in 2006. Not to mention, development for GTA IV began shortly after GTA San Andreas. So you can see why the chose not to make a separate 360/PS3 version for SA.

 

Also at that time SA didn't have GTA:O or any sort of MP feature, which was why they started the development right after it released. But now you can see a lot of games jumping on the NG boat, for instance Tomb Raider and Watch Dogs. It makes sense for Rockstar to release a NG version too and keep adding more content and also a PC version of course.

 

Also, I was skeptical about this too but it could also be ported from the PC version to the NG consoles because the NG consoles have an architecture very similar to PC's. So it should actually be really easy to make a NG version. Also another reason a PS3/360 version for SA wasn't made was because the PS3's architecture was complex compared to the PS4.

 

And there is Agent, which has been lying low for quite some time now. For how long can the game remain a PS3 exclusive? Surely that would mean a dearth in sales? Chances are Rockstar are rethinking their strategy.

 

So, technically the PC version is already announced, the only question is when will it be announced.

I just watched a GTA V Video, there wasn't any commentary, so I put it on HD, then fullscreen, and ffs, I felt like: I need this sh*t...
My heart pumped while watching the gameplay...


Do this, put on Fullscreen + HD, you will feel the game, and that just made me think.

I know there are lots of proofs, but imaging the game only on X360 and PS3 disallowing me to play *only have PC :/* it's like, disturbing...**

The preferred crap boxes like consoles has left us miserable for whole life waiting in queue for every GTA and PC Announcement!!..

With GTA 6 they need to close the sh*t gap of waiting, in fact with V as well.

I prefer to watch as little videos of V as I can bcs I dont wanna ruin and spoil the game for me, I want to discover the map and all on my own and not through a gameplay video.

Personally I don't really care about the better experience. I'll be playing GTA V on a small 19" monitor and my PC is just a midrange(i3 2100 and GTX 650Ti). I want PC version cuz I buy only games which are on Steam, console games are way too expensive in my country.

You can get used to threm. I got a x360 wired controller some time ago and It's perfect for racing or fighting or hack 'n slash games. It's also good for some third person games, I'm playing Skyrim now with it cuz UI was designed for the console and It's pretty good. Though I tried playing MP3 with it and the aiming kinda sucked, I guess it depends on the game.

There will be probably also a PC section sub-forum in the GTAV section for Troubleshooting, tweaks, and the like, similar to what can be seen in the GTA IV section (called 'PC Tweaks' in this case).

 

I'm looking forward to both, though. But, in the beginning, some sort of PC Tweaks section will be more important, because people will need help for possible problems/glitches/freezes/etc.
