Still looks like sh*t in comparison.

Yeah, the detail on Trevor's shirt seems to be almost non-existent. It's there, but not nearly as much...

Andreas is not the right mod, I remember him months ago doing some wrong predictions (it's not criticism, bro :) ), he is just one of us ranked up.

The only one who got inside info is Adriaan, or if you prefer R*A on the newswire ;)

That was over a year ago, bruh.

It seems that Rockstar applied some DirectX11 effects and other effects in some of the pre-release screenshots. Or, at least, that would be the most logical explanation to me. Edited by Andreas

@Felipson

with GTX 560 you can run GTA V with 1280x720 & ~37 FPS - high setting & AAx32 AFx16 will make it 30 FPS

with GTX 780 you can run GTAV with 92 FPS

Since we're talking specs again after a page or two of some X-files sh*t going on with the Newswire comments and Rockstar not deleting PC mentions...

They're still ignoring queries about PC on their Twitter support page, though. Assholes.

Just read through some of the comments a few pages back, and I think some people may have forgotten this:

Since there's apparently a "last-gen" mode in the PC version, It would then follow there is a "next-gen" mode as well. 'LG' mode is probably DX9 based, lower quality assets, reduced lighting/shaders, etc. Similar to current console settings.

This game already looks amazing on consoles as it is. And considering the PC received special attention this time around with a dedicated version, It's going to look significantly better on that platform for sure.

With regards to the screens from Rockstar's site; there is nothing at all in those screens that isn't already feasible on a modern PC. It looks great, obviously much better than the PS3/360 versions, but it's not exactly mind blowing either. Actually, it looks very similar to what Sleeping Dogs on PC looks like at ultra settings -- a 2012 game with very PC centric features,

No announcement, but yet another Amazon employee leaked a release date. They're saying February instead of March now.

I'm pretty sure the Amazon employee said they were expecting to have the game in stock by February, not that it would release in February.

_________

“Unfortunately we do not have an exact date for it to be in stock as of yet. You may think of to contact Rockstar for further information. We are expecting it next year by February, but no clear date is guaranteed for now”

Rockstar Games may want to surprise their fans soon by releasing a PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5, the Tehran Chronicle reports, leaving many gamers wondering if the developer will announce the launch date for the computer version of the game anytime soon.

Hold on a second- The first person that mentioned Day 5 was me, and that was because far as I remember the Christmas event ends in that day, so what I said is that I doubt that before day 5 we get anything and far as it goes it looks right, and tomorrow won't be much difference, maybe some post with pictures or reminding the event is about to end but that's it. So after the day 5 they'll announce something, could be their work in progress for heists, a solution for the online problems or something like that, and that leaves also a possibility for a PC announcement. I'd say in 2 or 3 weeks max they'll make an announcement, if they plan to release the game in Q1 2014, if not they either plan a smaller window for pre-orders or a Summer release. Any other scenario is beyond ridiculousness.

But now let's be realistic here, about the specs. Even if GTA V is an optimized DX11 version which seems to be it won't be a resources hog like Ghosts or WD, for the simple reason that this is not a new engine, it's the same engine used before with added optimizations. Rockstar didn't waste time and resources in Max payne 3 for nothing, they didn't do it to make Max Payne 3 an unforgettable experience on PC... content wise the game didn't need so much development time, but that time was used to learn and optimize the RAGE engine to the best they could. And that knowledge effort wasn't for MP3 only, they needed that knowledge for the future and that will be applied in V for sure. So in terms of requirements that game will be very similar to Max Payne 3, it will look as good and will be able to render the game in DX9-DX11 the only different will be the fact that it is an open world game and for that it might need a bit more RAM, but thats about it, the CPU and GPU will be similar to the needs of MP3.

The DX9 version will look as good as the current gen version with added sliders for draw distance, textures and shaders quality and the highest settings will be on par with Max Payne 3 in Ultra settings.

The game needs to be scalable for almost every possible setting in order to get players to the online game, which will need a paid copy and support during its cycle. As for NG version it's a matter of commodity and availability, if they have a version that can be easely ported and make more money, it's a bad decision if they don't do it.

@S1LV3R_W0LF

Don't think you are the only one who mentioned about Jan 5. :p

There are many others who knew it already.

Why? Because, it's common sense.

Please, be the first genius and let us know when (date) are we expecting an announcement ??

No news, yet?

Just 2 days left for the holiday gifts!!

@ Moderators

This thread takes so much time to load (almost 15 seconds) compared to other threads.

Well I said it here, as a matter of fact I wasn't sure if that was the day, before that I don't remember anyone mentioning it, only the January as a logical expected month for announcement:

http://gtaforums.com/topic/666478-gtav-pc-version-discussion/page-42?do=findComment&comment=1064428313

Anyway that isn't important, and indeed that is common sense really nothing else. It could be or not, maybe it's just more online crap like Heists or something, or maybe a preview of the Single Player DLC coming. Or perhaps they make the announcement of the PC version and the SP DLC in same day.

A way or another it should be close, or at least I hope it is.

Adriaan doesn't work for Rockstar unless Rockstar now magically has an office in South Africa I'm not aware of. :p I'm also pretty sure I know who R*A actually is.

Have you ever heard of rendering a scene in a 3D modeling program? :S

dont see what is so bloody special about that image for you to think that...there is nothing in that image...as kike mentioned...that a modern high end rig isnt capable of...hell mate...those sleeping dogs shots look to be of similar quality even....& if it is a 3ds maya render...then they used some pretty rubbish models.

myself ive played many of game in 4k resolution 3840x2160 down sampled to 1080 on my mates beast rig....games like crysis 3 at utlra...heavily modded skyrim with 4k/2k textures + a high end enb & that screen looks rubbish in comparison

i agree with kike...it looks like an in-game render using high quality textures... possibly at or above 4k & brought down to 1080p to achieve that level of iq.

this promo screen is another example of an in-game render using the same down sampling method mentioned above

431-1280.jpg

i remember when people said the same thing about mp3 promo shots..they claimed they were obviously 'pre rendered' because "there was just no way it could look that good!" & the actual pc version proved those claims to be false

now THESE screens are surely 3ds renders

Adriaan knows Rockstar's Community Manager and has him in "Friends" section in his profile on LinkedIn.
Adriaan knew about future announcements and his contiounuos hints played a big role in building of hype on this forum. And it was good for Rockstar

There's also a printer in that shot. Using the same logic: GTAV FOR PRINTERS CONFIRMED.

More like using slightly altered logic to match humorous intent.

I find it funny, though. I don't remember getting to see an interior with PCs during that mission in GTA V. Then again, I don't remember. This is probably just a different perspective all-together.
