I just looked up The Division and it looks like it will be a hell lot of fun. Does anybody know when it's coming out?

Rockstar sh*tS on PC gamers, so they won't do something like that

 

Rockstar only cares about $$$, so they will release PC version only when it will be the most profitable (i.e when console gamers will stop giving sh*t about GTA V and sales drop significantly)

However the more I think about it the more I'm beginning to be convinced that the whole mess that GTAO is in is going to delay or cancel the PC/any NG versions until they sort GTAO out fully. Which, to my mind they won't ever do. I think they have tasked all the studios with fixing GTAO as a nigh on full time job. Which baffles me why they don't slam the Youtube people with takedown strikes for teaching people how to hack, or forums (including this one. Remember the disappearing topics attributed to R*?). If R* really wanted they could get hold of forum admins and ask that they remove topics about hacking

I'm thinking of it this way: Let's say as an example Blizzard wants to release WoW on consoles but they have to bug fix and every bug they fix for their PS3 codebase leads to another bug, while the PC version has no issues, then it gets released and hacked to shreds on PS3/X360 and they have to spend time and effort fixing that when they could be doing PR or developing other games.

However the more I think about it the more I'm beginning to be convinced that the whole mess that GTAO is in is going to delay or cancel the PC/any NG versions until they sort GTAO out fully. Which, to my mind they won't ever do. I think they have tasked all the studios with fixing GTAO as a nigh on full time job. Which baffles me why they don't slam the Youtube people with takedown strikes for teaching people how to hack, or forums (including this one. Remember the disappearing topics attributed to R*?). If R* really wanted they could get hold of forum admins and ask that they remove topics about hacking

Perhaps, when they're finally patched up, they'll just do a simultaneous announcement + release at the same time. Surprising everyone and catching them off-guard.

 

In a perfect world, Rockstar would release the PC version along with the heists and include promotional Payday masks from the Payday games.

Yeah but if patching takes too long then they may well indefintely delay the PC/NG releases which is as bad as cancelling it. Who is to say that the PC and XB1/PS4 even get GTAO? After all they'd have to redo the game from scratch for the new console architecture unless it's a quick five minute port job which I doubt.

It's a new IP, of course they do more promotional stuff than Rockstar since no one who is not a hardcore gamer knows about this game, now with GTA everybody knows what's about the game and how it plays and general, it has nothing to do with the fact that one company cares about their fans more than another, that's simply idiotic to say but being on this forum in general it doesn't surprise me .

Rockstar GTAV Hype started almost 2 years in advance there is no other company that makes such a marketing hype over a single game ok Blizzard did with worldofdorkcraft
And i agree everyone knows what GTA is about - infact they wouldnt even had to announce what was new diving and multiple playable characters - are those innovations and deep thoughts of rockstar no - these have been requests from the fan base since VC.

There's a scandal of sorts going on with Max Payne 3 on Steam, at the moment.

 

Basically, too many people bought the game (Insane, right?) and Steam has run out of keys to give. So people can't launch their games as they get a "Failed to contact key server" error.

 

I'm one of those people, unfortunately. Despite owning the game for a bit over a year. I was unlucky enough to buy the co-op DLC. As a result, Steam has failed to acknowledge it as a bought product and is now denying me from playing the game all-together.

 

The trick is; Rockstar has to provide Steam with more keys. So it should be interesting, seeing how fast they react and publish more keys. Might speak of what priority they hold the PC in.

 

If they're having trouble supplying Max Payne 3 keys, I can't wait to see how fast the Steam key server will bleed when the PC version of GTA V is released, lol.

When you buy game on Steam download and install it right away, only this way you will know if you got the CD-KEY tied to your account, had this problem many times, thus few months ago I had to download about 100games to get cdkeys tied to my account. Since then I download them, run it for 1min then uninstall if I won't play it or don't have space on HDD.

Why would Rockstar team up with the hacks from Overkill, their games suck .

Oh and by the way, the online mode on PC have an advantadge you don't have on current gen consoles that if it existed it wouldn't be the mess it is right now. In order to play online games on PC you need an original copy or at least an official serial, and if someone is caught hacking they risk their copy serial to be blocked in the system which means either you buy a new copy or online mode is over for you. As for consoles all you need is to create a new Social Club account and you're good to go.

To SilverWolf, are you serious? Didn't expect that from you. Console hardware ban per game is possible, you can't just create new SC or change IP and play again. Devs can do that. On PC is harder to ban cheaters. On PC you can obtain IP and MAC easly if you know how to.

By saying there's a possibility that it won't be announced for PC, you imply that there wouldn't be a PC release. And implying that there wouldn't be a PC release would directly imply that the game would stay on old-gen consoles. And by implying that implication, you decrease the possibility of a next-gen version, as well. Due to the logical assumption being that Rockstar would just port the game to next-gen from PC. But they would not be able to do this without the aforementioned PC version.

 

Also, I'm really sorry. I don't understand how this quote system works in terms of deleting. I keep deleting the wrong quote section and end up duplicating the same quote font when I try to manually copy-paste things. So I can't get rid of the quote pyramid.
