Still needs a proper Eastern European VA, though. You can't have a latino sounding Niko

Most of my family is from the Czech Republic, it's pretty close to Serbia

I'll record myself tomorrow, it's late here (11:38 PM) and I'm still trying to get the NY glitch to work on my PS3, I've become obsessed with NY even more since the glitch stopped working...

Roman is not popular name in Serbia, it's not Serbian name. But it's popular name in Russia/Ukraine, etc.

Even considering that Serbia is actually not Eastern Europe, it's located in Sothern Europe and it actually differs from Eastern Europe in many aspects.

 

On words, according to the legend, to the plot, he is Serb, but mostly his character is Eastern European. And you can easily say that this is image of Eastern European thug (Russian/Ukrainian/Belorussian which are pretty similar). Niko even based on similar Russian character from the movie.

Probably. But it should be noted, that while Serbia differs from Eastern Europe in many aspects, that it's located pretty far from Eastern Europe, culturally it is most similar to Eastern Europian countries among all other countries in Europe.

The same religion, the same alphabet, etc.

Because of this, Serbia has special relations with Russia as well. Russia considers Serbia as it's younger, smaller brother who needs protection. Russia protected Serbia many times. They have tight, good relations, so Russia (Eastern Europe) influenced Serbia culturally and in some other aspects.

Hey guys, about the whole 9 or 10 years thing.

It's 9.

When meeting in the condo for the Port of LS Heist, Michael arrives late "Hey, sorry I'm late" and Trevor goes "Yeah, 9 years f*ckin' late".

They refer to 10 years simply because it's easier to round up to 10 and say a decade instead of "nine years ago".
