Tomorrow christmas gifts will disappear. Do you think it will affect North Yankton and access to it?

They might patch it. They said that they have patched it when holiday gifts came out but they haven't. So, they might do it this time. :panic:

I am really doubting that the prologue mission takes place in December of 2004, Michael and Trevor never referred the robbery happening 9 years ago (or they did and I probably forgot), they keep saying that it happened a decade ago.

I strongly think the Christmas Eve decorations are actually from 2003, and the prologue takes place in January 2004, not a lot of people remove their christmas decorations in January.

We do know that it does take place in 2004, due to Mikey's grave, but you are right.

R* probably changed a few aspects of the timing since they did delay the game.

When M or T mention the job, they mention 10 years, or "a decade ago", not 9 years ago.

Maybe they say "decade" because it's easier to remember than "9 years"? Of course, they know the robbery was in 2004, but it's easier for them to say decade.

That happens to me from time to time. I tell people I'm from Washington DC rather than the suburb of Alexandria, Virginia.

Hopefully someone with access to the game's files can port the map to IV as a mod. By the looks of it NG is gonna take a while, but if it's actually going to be a mod with a story and stuff it'll be worth it.

Other people are more welcome to port NY to IV (They don't need my permission, anyway :p). But yeah, I'm adding my own personal touches to the map and such. Making it more "alive" so to speak. It's literally going to be what the hoax DLC was about. So it's up to the players to choose which one they want.

Of course you should modify the map! It would get boring having the same old road over and over.

That's what I'm curious about. I know Cavalry Blvd. is gonna be there, since it's a true part of Ludendorff, but will the town be redesigned or still have the one road running through it? I know Kris' mod has a redesigned Ludendorff, not sure if Ngclan's gonna have one though.

Cavalry Blvd's gotta be there. They should just take the map as it is and add on to it. Maybe tweak some existing things for compatibility reasons.

Is there a topic about Kris' mod? I didn't know he was making one, is it ready for download or...?

We haven't gotten a topic yet, seeing as there isn't really anything to show. I mean, there are, but nothing worth making a thread on. Only thing I can really show is just this wee little cropped tease.

More information regarding getting to NY in Story:

Unfortunately, loading a singleplayer savegame while in North Yankton does not spawn the town above the Ports...

We need more people on this!

There will mainly be new interiors and the exteriors of the buildings you can enter will be changed. Not too much, but not too little. Not to mention there will be two other towns that'll be completely made from scratch, hence it being more open for creativity.

Cool. Will the bank/postage center/whatever-the-f*ck-was-in-the-prologue be accessible? It would be pretty neat to walk in and see civilians talking to tellers/mailing sh*t, and then stick the place up and rob them or something, with the appropriate snowy police Ranchers and Esperantos come racing in and have the NYSP shooting you, recreating V's prologue :)

Here's a picture of an NYSP officer, pretty cool Ushanka.

It'd probably be all secure though. It seems like more of a depository than a proper bank, given it's isolation & security

Don't worry. The Bank will be back, but it won't be an easy fight. Rick, Niko, and Michael are going to need some heavy C4 (or PE4? The argument still lives on!) to blow down those vault doors.

Speaking of PE4, there should be a point in the mod when Packie comes out to visit North Yankton after hearing Niko is still doing jobs.

Also I'm lost, what Rick are you talking about, the 4% cut hacker guy from Lifeinvader in GTA V?

Guy above me:

He's bound to port them in, but I hope he grabs the handling.dat from V to get accurate handling for it! Those vehicles in V are beasts.

NG: Another question.

I just thought, are you going to have the characters speak about North Yankton? It could be kind of bland not saying much, but I guess we'll wait and see.

The Rick character he's talking about is one of the 3 protags from his DLC hoax.

I'd rather see IV handling, though, V's handling seemed awfully unrealistic, for the most part. Especially the bikes.

Of course V was unrealistic, but it proved far more fun for high-speed pursuits. Imagine cruising down Cavalry Blvd with half of North Yankton's police force on you at 160mph? (Actually, you can do this right now with the NY glitch in GTA online, but no NYSP, just the LSPD) The top speed of police cars in GTA 4 was about 90 mph...

HOWEVER, V's damage sucked ass (even though the sparks and glass effects are cool). I'd combine V's top speed with IV's damage system and we got ourselves a perfect handling.dat

NGclan, when do you think you could show us some progress? This is getting me more hyped than the DLC hoax so if you can pull this off this is a sure redemption.

Gonna answer this stuff in an organised manner.

  1. Rick Chance is the new protagonist featured in the modification. More information about him will be released in the next few days.
  2. The characters WILL speak. Finding VAs for returning characters will be tougher than finding VAs for Rick and the other new characters.
  3. IV's handling will be the base with some tweaks here and there, to fit the snowy ground and such, ya know?
  4. Patrick McReary will be an optional character when performing heists. It is non-cannon and entirely optional. He'll play a small role if selected for a heist.
  5. Every vehicle from V's North Yankton will be reworked for IV, with the exception of the snow being modified entirely. Plenty of cars from V will be returning. (IE: Adder is only unlockable. Not seen on the streets.)
  6. The from V's prolgue will be one of the heists in the mod, only they've stepped up their game by expanding the safe underground, making it better for the shootout sequence (and for MP deathmatches!)
  7. Progress will be shown real soon. I have to get the files up-and-running again. Hence some of the files corrupted from uploading/downloading them.
