Does the NYSP Rancher handle the same as the stock Rancher, or is it any faster?

I can imagine it'd handle the same, seeing as it was never intended to be driven, but then again, Rockstar's known for surprises.

Handles exactly like the Rancher you see on the road, but with a cool siren

Remember pre-patch 1.06 when you could store police cars? I had some modder dupe one of these for me online. No lightbar, though. The one spawned among the cops in story had one.

Does the siren have the same sound as those of the Los Santos police department? After inumerable replays of the Prologue & Bury the Hatchet, I should know the difference by now.

It has the same sound as the LSPD cars, but the NYSP sirens are the same as LSPD. I think they are only different when you hear them before you open the garage door in the prologue and in the cutscene when their cars are racing in after M/B get shot.

I will do it tomorrow.

on-topic: Any news with a north yankton in iv mod? NGclan has leaved this thread forever? I miss him.

Like my new profile picture?

Love my Audi.

Question, did anyone figure out how to get to Ludendorff after the Holiday Gifts? I understand everyone's console freezes now (at least on PS3).

I can imagine some other folks will take over making the mod, actually making progress this time.

@Camsterguy - Does it freeze if you enter the map in either mission or just one of them?

So, I had a chat with theNGclan about the mod. It still exists and he said that he will continue on it if enough people are interested.

If any of you are still interested and are looking forward to the mod, PM me or @theNGclan (so the topic will not be spammed up) :)

Sorry for the off-topic post and please do not comment on that, whether it's positive or negative comment.

Was that from when the North Yankton multiplayer glitch got found out, or is it more recent?

May be a double post, but I just noticed these while watching the prologue:

1. Are the bank hostages unique NPCs to North Yankton, or do the span regularly while in Los Santos?
2. Notice how the unnamed getaway driver got killed during the chase, yet Michael & Dave's plan was to get Brad & Trevor killed. Does this mean that the unnamed getaway driver was to be unnacounted for? Was he supposed to die at the farm when the others got shot by Dave?

3. Does anybody else notice that near the end of the prologue (after Michael & the others are exiting the Rancher and Dave is preparing to shoot them), "No Happy Endings" plays, and it continues to play during the shootout with the police and up until Trevor runs into the empty field? The version played doesn't feature the synthpop-ey part heard in "Bury The Hatchet" though. It mostly repeats the intro part.

And here's the video I saw that made me think:

Now we must find a way to bring NY to Single Player.

There's always mods once the PC version comes out, or even porting NY's map to IV, which theNGclan promised, but failed to deliver since he didn't even have the map to begin with. However, I'll end that right there, to prevent another derailment, and save it for the video

Speaking of derailment, anybody else hear the news that a train blew up in North Dakota? Kinda off topic though, but still interesting considering our obsession with it.

Better keep it on topic. Next lock will be a permanent lock.

Has anyone found new glitches? There was one glitch that caused a Police Rancher spawn in Los Santos.

I found this glitch :)

To answer your question, it had Yankton plates.

It also had a lightbar! Modded in snow cop cars don't have lightbars I'm pretty sure.

I think this happend when I was playing the prologue and then loading a save game expecting North Yankton to spawn like it does in GTA:O.

It didn't but when I got a wanted level this guy was following me :O

Here's the cop who was driving it. Looks like Heisenberg

I wish my brother had GTA 5 so I can play with him, and I wish I had Xbox Live so I can glitch to North Yankton to begin with!

OT: Anyone notice that the "Welcome to Ludendorff" sign states the town was established in 1945? That could be the start of the town's history, the ending of WW2.

That could mean that this town could be hideout for Jews. Also that name sounds German... Trevor and Michael are Jewish!

The name, while not only being a sly reference to Bismark (German WW1 generals), but it could also do with that in America, you see a lot of German people in North Dakota, Minnesota, etc.

They must love the cold weather

I'm in Florida and hate hot weather. See what I done did there?

@Polish_Trucker - I always imagined the snowplow would've just been a truck driven by NPCs in either missions. A snowplow may be hard to put in though, seeing as they have a tendency to push snow away, and Rockstar would have to code that in, model some ground for under the snow, etc...

Unless they kept the plow off the ground, considering how snowplows work:

Then if maybe they were Poles in denial?

Possible. I wouldn't think "Ludendorff" is a Polish name, though.

Funnily enough, there's a real life city in North Dakota named after Warsaw, so you may be partially correct

I was talking about Germanised Poles and Erich Ludendorff was from Kruszewnia which is in Poland right now. But that was kind of a joke, since you said that they really like cold weather.

Huh. The joke flew right over my head.

Shame there isn't a "proper" history on Ludendorff. I'd suggest making one just for kicks, but that might be off topic. Then again, Ludendorff...

How about we make a competition on who will write the best fake story about Ludendorff and the winner's story would be in printed out in the Ludendorff Weekly Newspaper.

Good idea. Running out of things to write in LW. Don't go too off-topic with that though.

Did anyone else notice that when it's raining, the fake trees become invisible/transparent?

The wonderful village of Ludendorff

Ludendorff was founded in 1945 by Wilhelm Ludendorff, the illegitimate son of Erich Ludendorff, who was a German explorer who decided to go to America in 1945, having explored every part of Germany that wasn't bombed out or overrun by Nazis. Upon arrival in Liberty City, he traveled westwards to North Yankton, where he heard that gold was discovered. After arriving at a field in the northern part of North Yankton accompanied by his friends from Germany, he came to the conclusion that there was no gold, and signed a peace treaty with the local Native Americans, stating that the land will forever be theirs. The treaty was promptly broken five minutes later, however, when a member of Wilhelm's party discovered oil. Wilhelm promptly forced all the Native Americans onto a nearby reservation and claimed the land as his own, naming it "Ludendorff" and founding a town on it.

The town was slow to start, considering it's isolated location. However, it produced sufficient oil and as a result, flourished economically during the early 1950s, eventually becoming built up with suburban "split-level traps" surrounding it and many businesses coming into town to take advantage of the oil boom. For example, Gary Pollack opened up the well-acclaimed "Pollack Theater" along Ludendorff's main street, Cavalry Blvd., and the Ludendorff Wood Supply, after having a successful business record since it's incorporation, celebrated their 20th anniversary in 1973 by constructing a giant beaver on the outskirts of town to welcome visitors, or as of more recently, keep out visitors.

However, as a consequence of the oil shortage in middle east during the 1970s, Ludendorff began exporting oil all across America in bulk, but it wasn't enough to keep the town itself afloat economically, and since the 1980s, the town fell into an economic slump. With the oil pumped in Ludendorff not enough to keep the town on it's feet, and the town's government ended up putting pressure on local farmers to triple their farming quota to keep the town alive. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough to keep the town's economy booming, and as a result, Ludendorff had to sell of it's police department and after a lengthy legal process finally ending in the spring of 1993, Ludendorff was downgraded to an unincorporated community, eventually having to rely on neighboring towns for trade and the Fitzgerald County Sheriff for security.

Today, Ludendorff is the crown jewel of the great plains, an oil town - turned dying town - turned glorified suburb. Ludenforff fine place to retire or start a family, or simply drive through and be glared at by the locals if you're unlucky enough to be driving down the backroads of North Yankton.
