I don't get why they took it away.. What's so bad about getting out to a location that contains absolutely nothing? It's just a giant set piece, so why ban players over it?

EDIT: Also, I gotta say, having a memorial for the "passing" of North Yankton sounds really, really stupid. It's not going away. Soon, there will be save mods for V that'll automatically teleport you there. Soon, V will be on PC. Soon, NY will be ported to IV. It's not going away, it'll be here, waiting.

I was reading the main topic, and found the part which says the lrologue is set in 2003. I think that while it'd make more sense, since the game has more elements from 2012 than 2013 (just like IV is more 2007 than 2008), Michael's grave shows his death date as 2004, setting that as the prologue's date and 2013 as the main game's.

I could care less that the LSC glitch still isn't fully fixed or the fact people can give themselves God mode by simply pretending to be the SC server but I absolutely couldn't sleep at night knowing that a few people were visiting NY and causing no harm to others in the server.

Lame, why are they removing access to North Yankton? Its awesome that players discovered a clever want to get to it, and as long as its a complete explorable asset that's not being used in any official capacity for the online portion of the game… Just let people have their fun with it. By virtue of the fact alone that you need to be invited by friends into their lobbies to get there means it doesn't negatively impact anyone else's experience, which should be kind of the crux of the argument for whether a multiplayer bug needs to be patched. It's a totally isolated thing.

 

GTA V & GTA Online are great technical marvels and I'm still impressed in so many ways by what's been accomplished on hardware that's like a decade old, and gameplay wise I'm still having fun, but Rockstar have overall been extremely poor curators of the online game in terms of what they have prioritized and deemed worthy of fixing, ignoring and punishing players for exploiting. So dumb. I hope they find a creative and free way of restoring access to NY in the future without having to glitch there.

Back on topic, I still do believe there is something out there in NY Rockstar doesn't want us to know about. We need to do some hardcore searching before the update comes out, Yanktonphiles.

Are they actually banning anyone for this? I hope they f*ckin' ban me. I only started playing online again to mess around in North Yankton, I kept playing it for awhile longer cuz of the Hotknife exploit. So whatever. f*ck the online portion again.

It shouldn't.

 

The effort shown by R* to "fix" this "issue" is a clear example that they have something in the works and don't want us all to play with it before they announce/finalize and charge us for it.

 

This topic can keep on going until something NY-releted comes up. Single Player DLCs, Online jobs, etc...

 

and even beyond that...
