Character Reset to Rank 1. Why?

Real simple. Not cheating or anything, just went to switch to my 1st character, and he's rank 1, and doing the intro.

 

I'll assume all my cars are gone, which is all it'll take to render me done. Is there anything I can do? I'm guessing contacting R* would get me nowhere, but I gotta ask before I quit. That's from a hard earned rank 113, back to start. I'm not doing that all over again, and I want my F*cking Minigun. :@

Maybe it's your second character? Try using switch character, if that doesn't work try finding your stats on the social club. If they are wiped, then your character probably is gone forever.

In your case not to well... Contact R* and wait for 3 weeks to see if they respond ??

God damn it. My 1st character is indeed rank 1, but still with max stats, billions in his pocket, 20+ hours racing, yet no RP to show for it.

 

Some automatic BS that is. Take down the legit rank 113, but let the rank 300, 500 and 1000 guys run free. Good work, Rockstar-- you've failed again.

Is it odd that my 2nd character is still as it should be? I'm trying to be grateful for that, but it still stings. Most ironic that I was thinking of restarting my 2nd character, but now that's just out of the question. lol

Yeah, this massively frustrating, but hacking to get back to where you were? No way. All you're doing is exacerbating an even bigger problem in the game and potentially destroying it for everyone else long term.

 

One question to OP. You say you have billions in your pocket. That doesn't sound very legit to me.

Dude, there are countless people throwing millions after millions in your pocket. The game legitimately does not let me stop it.

 

I had about $3 million earned before I even knew of the $22k Felon GT. I earned my way for a long time. I remember I had $4.8 million when the crazy$ started rolling in, and I had already been giving away my legit money to low ranks the only way we can legit-- stick ~$200k into a car off the street for them.

 

I never understood why so many people were so broke ever...

I can see all the complaints rolling in lol. Rockstar has to level the playing field to make it fair but I don't think they have the ability to sort it out properly so people are going to get screwed. Just the way it is. I've been prepared to lose my 2 mill, rank 77, and my entire garage. I just hope if they do they give everyone another stimulus package or something.

Yeah man, I know. I got given millions by some tool that I've requested Rockstar to remove from my account. This is exactly why cheating your way back up isn't the answer. It sucks to lose progress and I feel your pain, but don't hack. There's too much of that s*** going on already.

A question out if interest. What is the highest rank anyone has achieved legitimately? I consider that I've played the game a lot since day 1 and I'm still only 92. I don't believe there are enough hours in the day for anyone to be ranked over 250 without having cheated so resetting anyone over a certain rank to zero would be fair enough I feel. This isn't aimed at the OP by the way, I know you said you were only 113.

I had my 1st character at rank 113, and my 2nd is at 100. Since about mid-October. Ranking takes longer the higher you get though, so I'm not sure if much higher than 200 would've been possible since October 1st last year.

I would love to see his SC stats. Not necessarily for proof, just cause I wonder how many hours, how many wins and kills... Would be interesting.

 

Passing thought-- they need to let you back-up your clouded saves manually to local media. As it is, this is like having my memory card in their warehouse or some $#!T. lol

That's still going to throw up an unrealistically high number though. No one's actually doing it that way, and if they are, they need help lol

It's not really as simple as that since you also get RP for Simeon deliveries, escaping the cops, bounties claimed, mini-games (golf etc), stunt jumps and probably more.

 

Only possible way I can think of would be to work out the average RP earned per hour over the entire user-base and compare that to time played, then reset all the unrealistic ranks. You'd have to account for people who grind like hell and earn much more than the average person so this method wouldn't be 100% accurate or fair.
