Lethal Vaccine

Orion SR's 5 year old LCS Video. But shows some underground locations...

RationalPsycho

Since transporting one vehicle at a time back to Portland is too mainstream, I decided to bring two:

The strategy is similar to that for the H/PP/TP/EC Sentinel XS and Bobcat in VCS; put the one with the most surface area in front (the V8 Ghost in this case), but instead of the player's body, you use the Reefer to push them simultaneously. Make note that if you park the first vehicle right next to the Reefer and use the second vehicle to drive back to the pier to begin the process, the boat might not spawn, so it's advised to keep a small distance in the beginning. Once ready, throw both cars into the ocean, and start pushing. You have to be extra careful and take your time with two vehicles, but it sure is possible.

Anybody know what is the best way to start a "Starter Save"? Besides getting 1.0. FP/EC Black Kuruma from the Special Vehicle Guide. For example, getting all possible packages first, before starting the ambulance missions or doing all the rampages before unique jumps..etc? I'm not necessarily interested in getting ALL of the special vehicles.

BTW I'm starting the PS2 version of GTA LCS

Thanks!

By any chance is your Username that you have referring to a Tech Death Band? If so...Great band!

Well, for a Starter Save, the only important and one time only Special Vehicle would be this FP/EC Black Kuruma. There is others you can get, but are infinitely obtainable so don't waste your time. If you LEAVE OUT "See the Sight Before Your Flight," or don't complete all 12 Sights, then you can also don't worry about the Prized Landstalker and just wait to do this entire Side Mission or at least most of it when Shoreside Vale becomes unlocked...

As for the order, it all depends on the player's ability to learn how to group certain tasks together in order to get low Safehouse Visits Stat. There is certain things I despise, like RC Races for instance, so for instance, I will do one of those and then after one is done, I will do some easy stuff like Hidden Packages or other Side Missions like Taxi Driver or something so my Run is very long and I am not wasting any Safehouse Visits. That's the goal with any Starter Save, imo. To reach the total possible percentage (unless LCS leaving out 2 Hidden Packages, thus 97/100 instead of 99/100, and leaving out StSBYF Side Mission), getting the lowest Stats, and any one time only Special Vehicle(s) that you can get.

Yea its after Demilich, one of my all time fav tech death metal band. Although, death tech metal is much different now than the early 90's Demilich style..lol

Thanks for the info. I'm not really interested in Stats either, savehouse visits, days passed etc. The only one that I've always cared about are only about times died and times busted. Just like to keep those to "0".

There's only 2 of them, so it's not worth it to detail. I think err5 already detailed it with Photos and such, especially the one on the Callahan Bridge. The one inside The Dolls House is much easier. The Callahan Bridge one is pure luck. In the end, I don't really see a point to get either of those 2 Packages in the beginning. Blow Up Dolls is a handful of Story Missions into the game and Driving Mr. Leone comes soon enough, too, which unlocks Staunton Island. Then the final Hidden Package is obtainable after Bringing the House Down...

I only bother with 97/100 in the beginning. Not 99/100...

I don't do 2 Hidden Packages and I don't do any See the Sight Before Your Flight, despite all of this being able to be completed. I also only have 19/20 Rampages done, as I need one for some of the OM0 Special Vehicles...

Anybody know the best way to get the package on top of the roof of the Hepburn Heights apartment in Portland? I think its usually obtained with a unique jump, but was wondering if there is an easier method for Starter Save.

Just watch jam8tone's Hidden Packages Videos or something...That's what I did when I was doing Hidden Packages. He doesn't do them in a Starter Save, but all of them, whether you get them in the beginning or not, are basically the same...

You can simply jump from the El Train Track onto the Building... No need for stunting or doing any crazy flips. Though sometimes you'll fall down and need to try again, though it's simple.

Oh yeah, that one...I thought he meant another one. But yeah, that's how you get it. You just drive to the Staircase, then run up Stairs onto the Tracks and then jump from the Tracks to the edge of the Building and can get the Hidden Package. Most people think you need to do Blow Up Dolls and have that Stunt Jump available to get up there, but it's nonsense. No need...

Oh well, there is no speedrun route yet but from my experience, when you are kind of skilled, you can do most of the Portland side missions in one run.
I start of with passing the first mission and collecting the SMG ammo that I can grab on my way. Then I do the "hard" USJ with the Sanchez and collect the next SMG ammo. Starting the railshooter missions will quadruple your current SMG ammo. RC Triad take down never is a problem. If it is for some reason, you can get a Triad rampage running for a small head start.
The RC Races are harder so just to be sure, save before you attempt them and put them in the beginning of every run. Side missions like Taxi, paramedics or firefighter contain no risk but you just have to be patient to pass these. Vigilante can be hard when you do it for the first time, so I'd watch out here as well.
Apparently, there is a WSOTT IP when you dupe Noodle Punk and then start WSOTT but this still needs testing.

Edited by Lennart -

You can make the PCJ DP so there should be no worries about this topic.

The paramedics IP is obviously faster, but only if you manage to pull it off. I tried to cross islands early on with the course menu available but this seems to be very hard. At least you can look to the left or right on PSP, which is some kind of advantage.

If you pull it off, make sure to use the timer as it replaces most of the mission timers thus them running upwards. Like this, you can beat WSOTT or races against the time like vigilante or FF, even the Noodle and pizza mission with ease. Some of these things have been tested, please don't kill me if not all of them are correct.

Anybody know of the good way to getting to Staunton Island early? A method that won't affect stats. Besides using the waterproof pcj from 9MM Mayhem mission which does increase mission attempts, I've seen a method by (jam8tone) where he pushes a trashmaster into the water and lands on it with a normal pcj 600. Is there a quicker method out there?

Thanks

I need some help with the RC Missions. Is there any tips on beating them on PS2, preferably without OM0 shenanigans?

Also, is there any way to bring cars from Staunton Island to Portland?

About the RC Missions, there is nothing else than saying: redo them until you succeed. Practice makes perfect.

Yes, you can take Cars from SI to PL. You simply push the Vehicle into the Water at the Newport Docks, then get in the Reefer and reverse-push the Vehicle to Portland Beach. Reverse pushing is important as forward pushing seems to damage the Vehicle and the Reefer too much. This way you can take the Race Cheetahs and the Race Deimos SPs and turn them into H/DP/FP/PP/TP/EC using the H OM0 Conversion Trick, also any SSV/SI only Vehicle like a Hoods Rumpo XL (which can be made NE), Infernus (which really rocks using the H Property), Polaris VT, V8 Ghost, etc.

For the Bikes, you have to take them to the Newport Docks, park them at the Pier and then get in the Reefer and take it a bit more near to the Pier, then drive the Bike into the Reefer and control the Reefer, kind of like a Ferry. This way you can obtain the FP/PP/EC PCJ-600s and BP/EP/FP Bikes, then you can make them H/UH/DP/FP/PP/WP/EC or H/UH/AP/PP/WP, without OM0 at best you can make them UH/DP/FP/PP/EC or UH/AP/PP.

Anybody know of the best method to reach Shoreside Vale early? Looks like the method I've seen where there is no collision on top of the hospital in Staunton Island only works for PSP. I'm playing the PS2 version. The other method I've seen is using the jump cheat but I don't want to use any cheats.

Method I tried:

Nvm, I figured it out after a while. Followed a suggestion by @MorsPrincipiumEst of grabbing a ghost vehicle and driving it through the Portland tunnel and driving it to the first stop in Staunton Island. I fell through a hole after the first set of stairs. That took me to Staunton Island. I then drove the ghost car to the construction tunnel next to the hospital. There is a wall next to the rocks/dirt piles without collision. That sent me to the tunnel that leads to Shoreside Vale and drove straight thru the blue wall. One thing I noticed after many attempts is to use a smaller car. Otherwise falling through the tunnels is easy with a bigger car.

I'm currently working on getting vehicles for the "Love Media Car-azy Giveaway". So far in Staunton Island, I have found all of the cars spawning with the exception of Hellenbach GT, BF Injection, and Thunder Rodd. I know the Thunder Rodd is not obtainable for Starter Saves, but I was wondering if either the Hellenback GT or BF Injection spawn at all in Staunton Island?

I know the Deimos SP does not have a static spawn location like the other cars on the list in Staunton Island, but I managed to find one driving in traffic and snatched it.

Or is the only option for the Hellenbach GT and BF Injection is to bring them from Portland with the ghost car glitch? If so, for the Hellenbach GT, is it only obtained by completing level 4 of the car salesman missions?

Thanks for any help.

The BF Injection is always obtainable from Portland Beach near the Cliff. You can use the Crusher Glitch and Ghost a BF Injection and take it to Staunton Island using the Subway. Take note that you have to use a STSBYF Passenger to make it Ghost, since Hookers don't enter the BF Injection. There's another Method for the BF Injection shown HERE.

For the Hellenbach GT, you can use See the Sight Before your Flight, grab the Hellenbach GT from Cedar Grove in Shoreside Vale and then take it to Staunton Island. The Shoreside Bridge will work after doing the STSBYF Missions. I learnt this Trick a month ago actually.

Also, the Thunder-Rodd and Car Salesman are not available in a Starter Save.

@SpriteFan274

Thanks for the info, I was given pretty much the same info as you did by a few other helpful forum members. The only thing I'm a little confused about is how to take a STSBYF Passenger from Shoreside Vale to Portland? I'm guessing at some point there is a mission that has to take the passenger to Portland, but isn't the bridge from Staunton to Portland destroyed? I tried taking a boat from Staunton to Portland with but the Passenger went straight to the water and drowned.

Also, since 15/16 cars is only possible for the "Love Media Car-azy Giveaway", does it affect the percentage at all?

Nah, the percentage for Import/Export is NOT given until ALL of the Vehicles are delivered. Same with See the Sight Before Your Flight. Not until all 12 Sights are done with will you get the percentage.

How is the Starter Save coming along? Almost done yet?

  • 1 month later...

Hello! I am also currently working on a Starter Save on the Android version. I do have some questions. Some of them might have already been answered, but I just need to be assured.

First of all, if I take a ghost BF Injection from Portland to Staunton, would the Import/Export garage recognize it and let me leave?

Secondly, does the "start See the Sight Before Your Flight then load a random save game and the bridge is working" technique also work on Android?

Thirdly, I did see how to obtain the hidden package on the Callahan Bridge, but is there a video showing it? I think it would be easier to follow.

The garage will recognise the ghost BF Injection and the glitch is also present on the mobile port.

Basically, you need to park a reefer underneath the package (you enter it once to keep it in memory and then drive on it with the pcj like on a little ferry, then you fall off the reefer with the pcj in the right moment) and then do what I did in the video without jumping into the water but onto the boat.

I don't really want to bother, but these things are hell. I really want to do them, but they're so difficult. The BF Injection, no matter which method, is really pissing me off. If I try the method of landing the BF Injection on the tunnel with a sniper, it's almost impossible on the Android version. The WP PCJ-600 lands on the subway tunnel, but the tunnel is always invisible, so it is very tedious to drive on it, and the BF Injection may also vanish. If I want to do "See the Sight Before your Flight", then I can't get the WP PCJ-600 to Shoreside. Jumping off the Harwood Ferry Terminal will end me up in the unfinished tunnel, from which I cannot escape. Jumping off from Callahan Bridge will almost always teleport me back in air on the unfinished portion of the bridge, and then I'll just permanently get teleported there until Toni dismounts the bike. Any tips or am I just not good at such things?
