MythicalCreature
This is a question that has been ploughing my mind for a while now- what is the difference between renderware and rage? Which is better? Can you convert renderware games into rage?
Andreas
RenderWare was an engine created by Criterion and it evolved further until the company was bought by EA not too long after the release of GTA San Andreas, which was the time when the engine disappeared from the scene. The Rockstar Games Advanced Game Engine, on the other hand, evolved from the Angel Game Engine, which was originally developed by Angel Studios. Another difference would be that the RW engine was mostly used in games that were released on the consoles of the sixth generation; RAGE was used for the first time in Table Tennis, a title that launched for Xbox 360 and Wii, which makes it a seventh generation title. Considering that both engines were created from two entirely different companies and they are/were exclusively used in two different console cycles, it is clear that they are both fundametally different compared to each other.
