I kinda feel bad for kids on the game. Even if they aren't annoying, there's always at least two people who will start screaming, cussing, and outright insulting the kid. Anyone who enjoys arguing with and insulting kids has serious issues. Some of the sh*t I've heard people say to kids.. amazing. I'm an asshole to my little sister but I wouldn't dream of insulting her like that. And I don't even like kids

It's funny because when I was underaged and played multiplayer, the majority of players spouting stupid sh*t and being overall annoying sounded mature, like between 17 and 30.

 

Also, this game is recommended to be played by adults only but it can legally be played by anyone. The sooner you all realize that, the sooner you'll realize that this debate is a waste of time.

Ok, ok.I'm 17 right now but I got involved in playing various multiplayer or co-op based games since I was 11.I've always got called 'an useless kid' , etc, the usual bullsh*t, when someone found out my real age(I was usually lying about it, since I never was a little squeaker that irritated everyone).I've always thought I'm more mature than my age shows, and I think I've been right.When I was 11 I'd usually say if someone asked me about my age that I'm 14 or 15 and they believed me without asking anymore questions.

I just can't subscribe to the idea that kids are going to do it so we should just let them. Like you were saying Chloroform, we all snuck looks at our brother's/dad's/grandpa's porn mags back in the day, and I think that's the way it should be. If you said your brother/dad/grandpa allowed you to have all the porn you wanted as a child, I'd think that was f*cked up. If there were middle-aged moms at gas stations picking up porn mags for their 11 year olds on the same numbers with the same distant, vacuous level of care I sold them M-rated games at Gamestop I think there are people who would call that a national crisis. Dirty mags and GTA5 are obviously different but there's some degree of comparison there in that both are perfectly fine things when in the hands of the right people with the right mindset.

 

Also, it's never the sane, productive, responsible people that people worry about. Rules are for the incompetent and remedial. That's why chainsaws come with warnings not to stop the blade with your hands, feet or genitals.

 

While I'd probably play this with a young cousin or something and have a good time with it and not be uptight about it, I'm still unconvinced it's a good idea to let a young kid play GTA as much as he wants on his own time. Some things are for adults not kids. I think that's a thing for a reason. I think society would get all kinds of f*cked up if we removed all age restrictions on all things and just that was that. So if some things are for adults and others are for everyone, GTA must be one or the other.

I get what you're saying budcat and I didn't mean let all the kids view porn and lets buy them it. Kids are going to be kids, they will find ways to view adult content by any means necessary. The internet is pretty much everywhere and adult sites are clicks away. Hell kids can view porn at school if they know where to look.

 

When I was in high school (1999-2003) we found plenty of sites that weren't blocked and we could see adult content. I'm sure kids these days have ways around it like we did. Do I feel porn should be on every channel? Nah. I don't see the harm if kids play GTA. Minecraft has violence, Mario has violence, plenty E rated games have some kind of violence in them. Why aren't these games in question? Because its not as graphics as GTA? Violence is violence to me.

I gave good points and I gave logical reasons to why kids can play this game. At the end of the day there isn't any laws on anyone playing games that aren't in their "age group". You're saying how rockstar can read this and fix something that isn't broken when I've given you perfect reasons on this topic.

You're entitled to you opinion as am I but don't act like I didn't contribute anything to this topic because I don't agree with you. Till its illegal, my posts will be "short sided" as you say. There isn't anything wrong with kids playing M mated games nor this game. I don't see the big deal and there isn't any issues with it. So what kids can go to the strip club. Kids can easily see this sh*t on TV. It wasn't till recent that the girl were topless. This world tries to block and censor almost everything from children.

That's the problem, make kids ignorant towards things they don't understand. Other parts of the world nudity is a normal thing. I don't see the issue if kids want to see virtual tits. None of us took a peek at their grandfathers or fathers titty magazines at a young age?

Some of us are acting like we didn't do sh*t like this. I know I did and guess what? Nothing bad happened to me. We paint this picture that kids are the issues these days and not the parents. On just about all of this we can agree. It just seems people are becoming more laissez faire about what kids see and more and more seem to excuse everything on the grounds that they can get exposed to all this and more online and probably are. This is where I go back and forth.

 

I think its a bit like the speed limit. I heard an analogy somewhere recently about how if you set the speed limit at 60 people will go 65. If you set it at 65 people will go 70. If you don't set it at all, people will kill themselves. I think that even if we all concede that most people can responsibly police their own speed and drive safely, we should set the speed limit at 60 or 70.

This whole argument is about generalizing. I've heard and seen 18,19,20, etc, talk trash and boast how hard they are in game and in real life. I've also seen little kids acting tough also, but on the other hand I've had my encounter with people who are 13-17 who are actually pretty nice, and fun to play with.

 

Growing up in today's generation with the over-saturation with violence, blood, and sex, it's no wonder you see these kids doing what they're doing in games today. Honestly, I believe that instead of generalizing certain groups, you have to give them a chance.

 

For example, I started Humane Lab Raid today for that double money event. I got invited to a game chat on PS4 and there were 3 other gentlemen who were African-American. Due to my previous experiences, I thought I would hear a bunch of swearing, boasting how hard they were in real life, etc, etc. In reality, they were really good at the game, and they were talking about how on the Humane Lab Raids - Deliver EMP mission, how the skyline looked really nice in the rain. You just have to deal with everyone on a case by case basis.

Doesn't even matter anymore now does it? This discussion wasn't very mature to begin with, the majority of these users are generalizing and saying kids shouldn't play this game mainly because they're annoying and mainly because the users themselves don't know how to use a mute button. What doesn't help their cause is that most people who speak over the mic, underaged are not, are annoying to begin with. It has nothing to do with age. I've heard numerous players, that sounded over the age of 17, cussing like sailors or spouting fa**ot or gay around. It has nothing to do with age. But the people here imply that it does and they've gone to ridiculous lengths to prove their point. From trash talking generations to saying all kids are annoying.

I'm 14 years old (I'm not a squeaker and my voice is way too low-pitched for my age) and i don't annoy the players with my rage on some moments ,rather than that,i just take out my mic and simply save the others from myself.All the kiddos should do the same thing!
