About Kids Playing This Game

I am going to be completely honest. Most kids if not, all of them are annoying and to some extent, useless. Half of them can't even read, let alone spell. I brought this up simply because earlier I was in a public session hearing 3 kids talking about the Ill Gotten Gains updates. All three of them couldn't even f*cking say it properly. "Ill Golden Guns" or something very similar to that was what they were saying. They were like 7 years old. After evesdropping their conversation I muted them and went on with my GTA life.

Better than the ones that play music that,if their parents heard, would slap the sh*t outta of them.

So true!

If people don't want to hear kids then they should put their Voice Chat to no one. Unless you kill them, you can't hear them. There is a party chat option so you can't hear them at all.

What about when they're in my heist?

Try again.

I think you can mute them via the pause menu.

Yeah you can do that.

Why don't people do that?

I played the prison heist with a 11 year old and we completed it just fine, no hitch.

When I was that age I read Roald Dahl books and a few years later hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy...by the time I was 16 I'd read the stars our destination...these kids don't read they just play gta and that's why they're so irrepressibly stupid.

You know. You got to thank the non-extant father figure up above for living in a poor country with kids that aren't squeakers and nuisances and play the game very, very seriously.

Its quite a one up from the Brits and Yanks, heck everyone else too...

So in a sense, we should have IQ tests before players play? I don't see what being illiterate and playing video games has to do with anything.

That was responding to your post, you people just want to fill this thread with smart Alec one liners when some other posters are actually contributing...your response was generic and non contributory.

The other guy just decided to write some pointless nonsense.

You don't see the correlation between the two?

Do you think playing gta is helping them to improve their reading skills?

Not really because satirical literacy is part of what makes playing GTA acceptable for a child, I'd think, and literal literacy is an integral part of that.

Still, I think you're going after a straw man a bit there.

Edit: Was I wrong about you, Chloroform, do you actually advocate a Lord of the Flies approach? GTA is acceptable for any age, without any intervention or contextualization?

Hello guys, I don't really see what's all the child discrimination is about, but I've been heavily insulted for being underaged, and I really think games should not be rated on age, it should be rated on maturity. I am almost 13, but I'm mentally mature enough to play and understand this game. The kids you hear screaming "ni**er" and other popular insults that sound like they are 7 are obviously not mature and should not be playing this game. Hope this topic doesn't get deleted but what do you guys think about kids on this game?

If you're under 21 you should not be playing this game.. and your parents should be ashamed for buying such a game for you if you're under 15... period. But parents these days are mostly worthless anyway, from what I can tell... it is now Trevor's world...

100% Agree. When will we adults ever have a game where we can play amongst our own peers, and not be bothered by children? Don't children have their own little game to play? Like WoW?

Condescending much? Adults play world of Warcraft as well. Any game will be played by any group, some need to learn this and accept it.

Now I think you're just trolling. You have to actually present an argument at some point, or address an argument at some point, rather than arguing relativity. That's textbook strawmanning.

I was simply replying to an adult being immature about kids playing wow and how its a "child" game, when in fact its a T rated game played by many adults. Seems like people want to make connections on how illiteracy and children playing GTA is relevant.

This topic is about how "immature" kids are and whether or not they should play M rated games. If I come off as a "troll" because I don't want to debate irrelevant things, sorry. Seems like since in on the other side of the fence, I need to sing and dance for a few of you.

I gave good points and I gave logical reasons to why kids can play this game. At the end of the day there isn't any laws on anyone playing games that aren't in their "age group". You're saying how rockstar can read this and fix something that isn't broken when I've given you perfect reasons on this topic.

Seems to me that you're kinda "tolling" the topic and not listening to reason, right? You're entitled to you opinion as am I but don't act like I didn't contribute anything to this topic because I don't agree with you. That's not being understanding and respecting others opinions that are different then your own.

Sorry, you little sh*ts. You don't belong in Los Santos. The entire world is catered to mothers and children these days, so stay there. I can't smoke a goddamn cigarette without some mother complaining about her kids, So guess what? GTAO is the adult world. If I hear a squeaker on the mic, I will immediately spawn kill them until they leave the server. don't like it? go play at the McDonald's playground where you belong.

You shouldn't f*cking be smoking anyway. You're going to end up a wrinkly old bag by 55 with a raspy voice, a hole in your throat, or even lung cancer if you keep it up. Stop smoking. There's better alternatives.

Everyone is a wrinkly old bag by the time they're 55. Smoker or not. Your logic fails.

Right off the bat, I'm not trying to make you sing or dance or disrespecting your opinion. I've been trying to reach a point of mutual understanding. It's not even about convincing you out of your opinion, just a matter of getting you to share it so I can consider it. Which you did here and that's great.

All I'll say is to reiterate my position, personally, which has never been to change any laws or make Rockstar aware of anything. This is perhaps the only game I've ever played where I get cagey about the idea of young kids playing it unsupervised. It's unprecedented in that regard for myself personally. Because of that, I'm inspired to see how others feel on the subject. I'm glad you've shared your opinion on the matter and I'm thankful for that, for real. If I came off poorly before it is because that's how much I value sincerity over being glib.

But personally, I hardly even have what you could call a position at all, more like an open-ended question.

I didn't read the entire thread, but IMO, I think "kids" can play to GTA V/Online (with an adult in the area, to calm the kid, because they tend to get excited with this kind of game), because kids can be mature too (with a good and proper education).
But in fact, we see that many people (kids, teens and adults) bought the game (GTA V) only, to play to GTA Online. That's the problem. They don't know what's really a GTA Game, and I think, it's these players who are annoying and ruin the game (Online).

I think, Rockstar should allow the "full" access to the Online after the Story.
I remember a game (simulation) from the America's Army created to "enroll" young Americans in the Army. We can agree or not with this "strategy", but I'm taking this example for the "gameplay".
In this Game/Simulation/initial training/informations & recruitment, "we" can join the Online from a minimal "Honor LvL" (LvL 5, If i remember correctly).

To reach this minimal level, "we" need to play (and learn the gameplay from tutorials and tests) in solo first.
But even with this minimal level, lot of things (US military roles, US weapons etc...) are disabled. In this case, players have only access to the "limited" Allies military roles, allies weapons (obviously less effective than the US weapons lol) etc...

The Players need to reach the "15 or 20 LvL" (Honor LvL) to have access to all American roles and weapons.

When "we" play the game for the first time, reach the 15LvL ask (or asked, I don't know now with the new version) a long time (15-20 hours of gaming, and to have succeeded some exams, not very complicated, but ask some knowledges.... even if it's possible to find easily the solutions on the Internet....).
And finally, in this game i never saw immature people, because to enjoy the entire game, we need to go in the Online (because this game is a MMO).

And then, players needs to be "skilled" (with their brain, keyboard/mouse...) and to be patient... and generally, immature people don't like difficult games, and "want everything now".
And when we can play in the "Online" with this 15 LvL, the gameplay rewards people playing with a good behavior (health teammates for example), people doing a great teamworks etc... (Selfish, Rushers aren't rewarded for example and friendly fires are penalized...).

So, I think that Rockstar should do the same thing.
The access to GTA Online should be "free" from the first launch of GTA V, but very limited (no access to heist, no access to mission, just some weapons etc...).
Instead to have a "Honor LvL", we could have a "Reputation or credibility LvL" (based on the behavior of the players from GTA V).

To have access to the "full" GTA Online, player could have earn some "Reputation/Credibility points/Lvl" from the story mode, in relation with his/her behavior to accomplish the missions: Instead to win a Gold/Silver/Bronze Medal, the player should earn some "Credibility points" and then to reach a Credibility LvL.
There are 69 missions (if i remember correctly), where the Gold medal=3 points, Silver medal = 2 points and Bronze medal = 1 point.

To have a full access to/in GTA Online, the players should have (for example) 150 points:

  • If the player complete the 69 missions each with a Bronze medals ==> 69*1 = 69 points (==> from 0 to 69 points = access limited to GTA Online: Free roam, some races, some missions, tennis, golf, darts, and only the "smallest" weapons "purchasable", and can earn some hundreds dollars with activities/races/missions.... because with a very low credibility)
  • If the player complete the 69 missions each with a Silver medals ==> 69*2 = 138 points (==> from 70 to 138 points = access limited to GTA Online: Free roam, more races, more missions, Fleeca Bank heist only, tennis, golf, darts, and only the "middle" weapons "purchasable", and can earn some thousand dollars with activities/races/missions.... because low/middle credibility)
  • If the player complete the 69 missions each with (for example) 13 gold medals + 52 silver + 5 bronze = 148 points (==> from 139 to 149points = access limited to GTA Online: Free roam, every races, every missions, 2 Heists available, tennis, golf, darts, and every weapons purchasable (small, middle and some heavy guns/ military guns), and can earn tens of thousands dollars with missions/Activities/races... because high credibility).
  • If the player complete the 69 missions each with a gold medals ==> 69*3 = 207 points (==> from 150 to 207 points = full access to GTA Online: Free roam, every races, every missions, every Heists available, tennis, golf, darts, and every weapons purchasable (small, middle and every heavy guns/ military guns), and can earn lot of money with missions/Activities/races... because very high credibility).

In this case, payers with 150 points will have a full access, but obliviously, the missions/Activities/... will be available depending of his/her Online LvL.

To be clear, Heists are available from the 20 LvL (or 12... I don't remember). It will be the same thing with this system. The difference is a 20 (or 12) LvL with 150 to 207 points (in solo) can do every Heists.

But a 20 (or 12) LvL with 70 to 138 points (in solo) can do only the fleeca bank heist while players with the same LvL but with 0 to 69 points have no access to Heist.

Of course the actual leveling will still present. And the "Online" LvL will allow to the player to win more money and RP.
Then, we could have some players with a "Bronze 80LvL" (they completed the game once, with only Bronze medals) and with an limited access to the content and missions, and other player with a "Gold 20 LvL" with a full access to the entire game.

The "Bronze 80 LvL" will be just a "older" player (in GTA Online) than the "Gold 20 LvL", but the second will be better (skilled and better "stuffed") than the 80 LvL.

This system will "force" players to play the Story and to be a "master" of the gameplay, tips and tricks, locations (map of los santos), driving, flight etc... before to be allowed to play Heists for example.

Plus, this system will "force" players to max their character and then, to earn "more" (online) LvLs
Impatient and immature people will hate this, and will stay in Free Roam...... or, will decide finally, to play the game, after they understand that GTA Online is a GTA Game, and then, to find some "jobs", players need to have a good reputation, a credibility, a character with abilities, and then earn more money and more RP.

Plus this system will allow to have skilled players, able to finish a mission or heist without the need to have a armored kuruma, and to learn to use properly their gun(s), their car etc..., and to do/learn a Teamwork.

I would not be against a squeaker lobby similar to bad sport lobby. If your mic registers a certain voice pitch that gives away a young age the player is teleported and locked in Squeaker only lobby. Would be a godsend for this game.

I say put mic users in their own lobby. Saves me from muting/reporting them and kicking them from missions i host.

Bad idea, some adults have high pitched voices. Members on this forum (not in this thread) have admitted to have high pitched voices and they are older then 18. Some kids have deep voices before the age of 16.

Do you really think really young children have any business playing online?

You contributed of course, for me though the more thought through and smart posts have come from a handful of people on this side of the fence if you will...if anything I'd say ignore the dumb posts from either side (short, aggressive, antagonistic etc) and just respond directly to the points raised, simply repeating the same stuff seems short sighted...I get that rockstar won't do anything probably but what about whether it's right or wrong?

Do you really think really young children have any business playing online?

I don't know how much deeper in thought I can get, Im on the other side of the debate. What can I possibly say that will "wow" people? I don't need to come up with elaborate posts since I don't feel like kids aren't doing anything wrong.

Till its illegal, my posts will be "short sided" as you say. There isn't anything wrong with kids playing M mated games nor this game. I don't see the big deal and there isn't any issues with it. So what kids can go to the strip club. Kids can easily see this sh*t on TV. It wasn't till recent that the girl were topless. This world tries to block and censor almost everything from children.

That's the problem, make kids ignorant towards things they don't understand. Other parts of the world nudity is a normal thing. I don't see the issue if kids want to see virtual tits. None of us took a peek at their grandfathers or fathers titty magazines at a young age?

Some of us are acting like we didn't do sh*t like this. I know I did and guess what? Nothing bad happened to me. We paint this picture that kids are the issues these days and not the parents. Sorry but parents are more to blame then the kids. Lazy parents and the parents that don't teach their kids right from wrong etc are the issue.

I honestly dont see the big deal most people are having with kids playing this game. Sure this isn't the GTA I grew up with BUT that doesn't mean the ones I played are any better.
