Especially have to give my sympathies to that smoker up above. I just quit smoking after 13 years but my god the sanctimonious pricks when it comes to smoking. I hope you anti-smoker whiners who bitch and make smokers miserable have impeccable health and aren't fat, have high cholesterol, get sick, smell like sh*t, or otherwise inconvenience people in any way before you open your mouths about smokers. You want to talk about some high hypocrisy, Jesus H Christ.

When I was younger my sister and I had to stay at our grandma's house and she smoked and it was horrible. My sister was especially sensitive to smoke and it made her miserable. It's bad for your health and it's bad for most people around you. It's the cold harsh truth, people have the right to whine about it.

If you read carefully what I said the worst I insulted previous posters complaining about smokers like yourself was calling you whiners and no profanity was involved towards any poster directly. It's off-topic so I won't go into it.

 

As for "cussing." There's nothing mature about pearl clutching. Already this is part of that sanitization I was talking about: "I'm willing to bet that half the active people on this forum are underaged and so rules are applied accordingly."

last post before i posted was 4-5 hrs ago. thats not bumping. plus, this topic is good for a debate. especially for those on here who has kids like me

 

 

i let my 12yr old son play this game. but i make sure i'm there beside him when he play. and i keep stopping him if he goes around killing ppl indiscriminately or do other disturbing stuff like run ppl over. but mainly he just seems more interested in all the super cars, buying 'em, do some modifications and drive around like a headless chicken

I have to say I'm just confused by you two, Chloroform and Scaglietti. Chloroform you say people should be able to do whatever the f*ck they want screw offending people, implying it seems you're also against keeping kids from playing it, yet you thumbed up half my posts a few pages back which would seem to contradict that worldview. And Scaglietti, you're over here flipping out about smoking and saying kids should be able to do whatever they want but I should watch my cussing. It's schizophrenic. I'm not picking a fight I'm just struggling to understand. I don't think I've come any closer to understanding your view on the matter.

 

I feel like if I said "squeakers don't belong in GTAO" I'd get a bunch of thumbs up from people and if I said "kids under 13 don't belong in GTAO" I'd get a bunch of angry responses, half from people who just thumbed up the trash talk about squeakers. It's all the squeaker talk that ignited this thread, not some aloof debate on the merits of the ESRB. Clearly a lot of people don't think kids belong in GTAO, others do, this is the place to talk about it. Don't need to get upset about it. No need to close the thread when it's something that comes up again and again. There's been some good conversation here.

All this didn't happen over night you know? Sure this generation can be considered the worst but that is said with each one. The reason kids can't be disciplined isn't because of this Gen, its because of the parents that took it too far years back. New laws have been put in place. Teachers dont have kids respect because teachers dont even respect their own jobs.

 

I had a teacher in high school (you're talking about 1999) that said to us "I don't care if you want to learn, I still get paid". Also more can be done on the parents side too. They lead by example.

I was doing PS Bikes with my friend yesterday and one of the randoms we ended up with turned out to be a 7 year old Pakistani kid. We didn't believe him at first but after a while talking to him and stuff it seemed like it might be true. For instance, we asked him about his username and he said that was his real name. He just seemed legit.

 

Anyways, this 7 year old was like no other kid I've come across on GTA. Sure, he had a naturally squeaky voice but he wasn't constantly yapping, he was just friendly. When he first joined, he was saying "Hello..." and we did think it was some dude putting on a silly voice so we didn't really respond. But eventually we started asking him where he was from and stuff.

 

The best thing about this kid was that he joined a heist with two players of rank 150+ and he actually listened to us. He got into my Kuruma and when I told him to stay in there, he was all like "I stay in car!". What's more is that the was way more useful than the other dumbass who didn't listen to anything we said and kept dying.

 

Due to 75% of the team not being snotgobblers it only took us three or four attempts to complete the mission. The previous night we had been stuck in a team of 50% morons, no matter who landed in our session, and we spent over 2 hours just trying to complete PS Bikes.

 

tl;dr - I loathe parents who release their kids onto PS3 unsupervised (especially with a microphone) but I had a super rare positive experience with one such kid. Maybe it's just American ones lol.

He may have had an adult sitting behind him, making sure he did what he was suppsed to.

 

I don't think all kids are terrible, I just think that at such a young age there are so many more things kids should be doing to better their mind and themselves, than to waste precious development being entranced by an adult oriented video game.
