About Kids Playing This Game

Apparently OP has a problem with kids that play the game the same age he might have played his first GTA

 

Adult : ''I played SA when I was 12''

 

Kid : ''I playing GTA V when i'm 12!''

 

Adult :''gtfo''

That's pretty much how it goes. Sure kids can be annoying at time and I enjoy playing with people my age but there isn't an age restriction for online. Besides half the time the kids are minding their own business. Its the "adults" that are mostly annoying.

 

The ones that say "shut up kid" the second they hear one. Christ, you shut up and mute them.

Most forum users in this section are either underaged or played their first GTA when they were underaged. And I doubt you're any different. Don't be a hypocrite. Use the f*cking mute button and stop spamming up this section with irrelevant crap like this.

No because at one point we all played M rated games at a young age. But I think they shouldn't have mic if all they do is call you names or be annoying

 

We "all"? Not really. But to be fair, when M rated games came out I was already an adult.

 

But if I were of a younger set...I had a different child rearing experience. My parents actually cared about the content I was putting in my brain. I was not just plopped in front of a television set for hours on end...and I didn't get everything I wanted just because I felt entitled to have it.

 

Also my parents were my parents and didn't try to be my buddy and placate me.

I was playing the other day and this lvl 8 started shooting at me so i killed him 3 times then went on with my business 5 minutes later i get a message saying ''Why the f*ck do you think its ok to my an 9 year old cry you c*nt''

 

So i replied with ''Someone has to punish him seeing as youre such a sh*te parent''

 

9 years old is ridiculously young to be playing......

 

And I'm NO hypocrite. I didn't play GTA until I was 15 going on 16

Just mute and ignore them. sh*tty parents aren't going to do a better job of raising their children if they forbid them to play GTA or other violent games. And if you think that they won't play even when they're forbidden, you're mistaken. Also, if you think that they're not already little jerks before they put the disc into their machine, you're wrong.

 

Fact is, this "horribleness" is everywhere. Not just in a select few videogames. They're going to be exposed to it from everywhere. That's how life is. Censorship, trying to keep things away from your child won't work for long or do much good. The better thing is to talk to them about it and explain how things (life) work(s).

 

I'm sure that a lot of GTA V players and posters on this very forum have been playing since they were children, and probably also while their voices were still fairly high pitched. The difference is that (ignoring behaviour, that differs per person) you couldn't hear them because GTA used to be played offline mostly. As soon as you stop hearing them, they blend in with all the other morons.

 

There many, MANY more important things than children playing violent videogames. And a LOT more things that parents are doing wrong in the upbringing of the kids. Also, one thing that is possibly more annoying than children (they can be muted) in online games is when people make their thread titles so long you can't actually read it because it gets cut off.

 

Quick example title: "Parents letting underaged children play 18+ games". You're welcome.

Im really getting sick of hearing these squeakers and wss wondering, shouldnt these parents be charged with this crime (contributing to the delinquency of a minor)? Mabey at 15 or 16 it maybe "ok", but what about these very young children being exposed to the horibleness that gta 5 holds?

Here's the thing I don't get. I'm sure some of you out there played GTA when you were younger, I know I had. So why is it different now all of a sudden? That's just being a hypocrite. If kids are really bothering you, just mute them.

Do you really not think that older GTAs were more innocent than GTA5 though?

 

I first started playing GTAIII when I was around 15. It came out when I was in high school. Picking up a hooker at that time meant the car would rock back and forth for a bit and then they'd hop out. If you swiveled the camera you'd see your character and the prostitute sitting side by side not touching each other as the car rocked. The game nearly got banned with SA because of almost fully removed, completely innocent "sex scene" called hot coffee. NPCs back then were like paper dolls you'd run over and they'd flop over, there was no rag doll effect.

 

I'm not that uptight, I don't have kids so I'm not sure if I'd let them play GTA at what age, but I do think the "you played older GTAs" is a false equivalency.
