Guys like girls, so they want the game to have girls that look more real. Many of these guys have real girlfriends and wives in real life. So what? We admire a car for its beauty, and then try to make it look the same in the game, so why are people any different?

My first female character was okay-ish looking. I made her when GTAO first started, then a few days later she went missing and I had to make a new one. My second character was again just okay-ish looking, but then I decided to change her looks after an update. The final product came out quite well, I think.

Here's my first character:


And here's the final look for my second character:


Changed her hair and clothes after the Business update:




And last night I gave her a new style:


I can't find any of the pics of my second character's looks before I changed her appearance after an update. I'll tell you, though, no illegal activity and lots of sleep really helps improve their looks.

Likewise, I really want to see if I can make Tanya a little darker skinned, but now I've got her to level 50 and Lola's level 128, I don't want to delete either and start over again

I was actually starting to consider deleting my level 92 female, but then I realised I'll lose all the Valentines unlocks :L Specifically the Tommy gun, dresses, valentines shirts and masks. Stupid timed DLC.

I'm gonna make a second character soon. Thinking about making it a female character, because... why not? Figure it is best to have one male and one female character anyways. But looking at the pics in this thread, it does seem like GTA5 tries to screw you over when creating a decent looking character.

 

I remember making my first character, and it was awful. I think I randomized mine about 30 times before just picking one. The parents/grandparents and heritage thing is just a stupid when of giving us character customization. R* should have just given us a character creation tool and left it at that.

I was very impressed with this effort above by lxr...so much so I decided to see if i could copy it (hope you don't mind lxr)...result below:

 

 

This was a big learning experience for me as most of my characters are normally lucky random selections with minor changes to fix a few bits.

 

Key things I learned:

 

- the smirk and lighting of the characters in the creation screen isn't helpful as I didn't think I was close until I saved it and saw the result in game.

- setting the player mood in game to 'normal' gives the most balanced features for selfies

- to avoid overly man-ish looking women you need to use grand dads that have narrow faces and chins...my initial attempts wouldn't have looked out of place at Cockatoo's until I figured this out!!!

 

The settings I used were as follows:

 

1st GrandMa 2

1st GrandPa 1

 

approx 60/40 mix in favour of Grandma (these first set of settings had most affect on overall features)

 

2nd GrandMa 5

2nd GrandPa 1

 

approx 60/40 mix in favour of Grandma (these second set of settings affected skin colour more than features)

 

Final mix 100% toward mother

 

The 1st grandma is key to the whole thing, if you can work which grand parent returns the closest resemblence of your subject then use it and do minor tinkering with the remaining grand parents to find the best balance. Use the first set for facial strucuture and the second set for skin tone (thats how it worked for me anyway in this case).

 

I forget the other settings but it was something like 100% in sleep and whatever was left to give the most youthful skin - should say in the descriptions.

 

Hope this helps some people and a plea to others posting their creations - please include your settings!
