ModLoader is a fantastic tool, many thanks for that!

 

I'm trying to create an installation of Soccer Team Play using ML and have some issues. I have a mission script located in modloader/SoccerTeamPlay/CLEO/TeamPlay6f.cm . The mission script starts executing automatically after loading a save file. This is not a correct behavior for *.cm files, because only *.cs should be started automatically and *.cm files should be started from *.cs. I use this pattern also in other mods SA Golf and SA Volleyball, hence they won't work either. Another strange thing is that TeamPlay6f.cm is executed 3 times. I have looked in std-cleo.txt; it redirects me to std-asi.txt and there I didn't find any information about this issue. For doing this test I have deleted my *.cs file to ensure that there is nothing that can start the *.cm file.

If this issue cannot be fixed, I can live without it by installing the program files the traditional way any using ML only for dff, col, and txd. More elegant would be to use ML only, however.

 

 

Further questions/remarks:

- The mod requires to insert a line in object.dat. I know ML does not support object.dat yet. Is there any update on this?

 

- *.col files usually have to be embedded in col-archives (e.g. multiobj.col) when using an IMG-tool. I have successfully tested loading 3 col files using ML without inserting them in a col-archive. Is this correct and safe when other mods also provide col files?

 

- My cleo script (not shown in the log file above) also reads an .ini file and a .dll file using 0AA2. I'm amazed that it works from the ML directory. Without ML (but using the traditional way) "CLEO\SoccerTeamPlay.ini" and "CLEO\SoccerTeamPlay.dll" are found by the script. However, using ML I have to shorten the filenames (rename the files) and use "CLEO\SoccerTP.ini" and "CLEO\SoccerTP.dll" instead. This is not a big issue though.

Oh yeah, I actually already fixed this bug as reported here, so you'll see this in the next update.

Alright, so I'll give more focus to it when adding more dat support. This and carcols.

It's just that the game has almost has .col indices used, so the best is to use a single col (embed).

This looks like a big issue for me! It should've work, could you send me the mod by PM or something?

So you're saying that adding a *.col file in ML is also restricted by the file limit for *.col files? Hm, that's a problem if people have already used up their limit. Just wondering, do you think it would be possible (in future) to treat all *.col files provided in ML as if they were in one *.col archive?

 

Currently I can't reproduce the bug with the long name for the DLL. Either I did something wrong earlier, or the error is indeterministic. May be "CLEO\SoccerTeamPlay.dll" exceeds the CLEO-String limit and truncates the name (loosing the file's postfix). When trying to load, then perhaps the wrong file is loaded, e.g. "CLEO\SoccerTeamPlay.ini", "CLEO\SoccerTeamPlay.dll". I will probably use the shorter name to be on the safe side. At the moment it is a problem to sent the mod. As an alternative I attached one of my test files that can be used for testing:

So you're saying that adding a *.col file in ML is also restricted by the file limit for *.col files? Hm, that's a problem if people have already used up their limit. Just wondering, do you think it would be possible (in future) to treat all *.col files provided in ML as if they were in one *.col archive?

Mod Loader is not working well with Design Your Own Misssion, it glitches the game and fails to load mods as soon as i play any mission, i'm not sure but i think it is related to abstract streaming.

 

The error log is too big so i will just post a part of it, basically the same error happens to every mod:

Maybe DYOM changes the working directory to User Files and doesn't reverse this change too soon.

Well, i don't know much about the technical stuff, but what happens is kinda weird, for example i have a radar mod installed, when i play any mission in DYOM, the radar partially disappears but when i press "esc" and click map, then go back in the game, the invisible area in the radar shows up.Also pressing "esc" loads back some mods again, i suspect it has something to do whit the reloadable models you mentioned.By the way keep in mind that DYOM is inside the user files folder and not in the modloader folder, i think you should test it for yourself so that you know exactly what i mean.

I'm playing on ImVehFt 2.0.2 because newer versions are crashing my game when save is loading.

 

And sometimes when i'm playing game I have this crash:

Unhandled exception at 0x00718604 in "D:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\gta_sa.exe": 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x890149ea.Calling loader.Shutdown();

I've thinked it's because of car mods so I've deleted every car mod from modloader but game is still crashing.

Hi Link, first of all let me say that ModLoader is brilliant for quick and easy mod installation. But unfortunately I get a pretty game-breaking bug when using it. Whenever I add a "vehicles" folder (I put dffs and txds from vehicle mods in there) and then start either a New Game or Saved Game, my pedestrian audio and pedestrian zones get messed up. Let's say I travel to the countryside, and then travel back to Los Santos, if I install vehicles through ModLoader the people that are usually found in the countryside (farmers, etc.) will spawn in Los Santos where they're not meant to spawn. All of their audio disappears and they only speak when they compliment or insult CJ. This definitely comes from ModLoader as well because I've been removing and swapping files like mad to see what was causing the issue :lol:

If you wouldn't mind having a look into this problem for a future update, that would be awesome. Keep up the good work!

Alright, I'll not be looking for any potential bugs until the next release.

But your bugs looks really weird and unrelated.

 

Something I notice on every bug report is that the report is incomplete, sometimes it's missing the log (and I mean I want the entire log), sometimes it's missing information on how can I reproduce the bug (and using which mod), and sometimes it's uncertain on whether the bug is from ML, the game crashes? It's ML fault! Like the game never crashed before the existence of it.

 

But as I said in the first line, I'll not be looking for bugs here until the next release, so no bug reports 'till there! :p

The current one already supports timecyc.dat.. unless you're talking about SAMP, I believe Link found the problem with that, so it should be in the next release.

when i load a DYOM mission to play it, it's works normally but after while of playing it on the mission it crashes.

EDIT: It only happens while using DYOM

I have a problem using skin mods, for example I tried replacing smoke just now.

I made a folder in the modloader folder so it looks like this

 

modloader\bigsmoke\smoke.txd, smoke.dff

 

but when testing out the skin in-game, the game just won't load it, it freezes (doesn't crash)

 

here is the log

How do I install timecyc? There is 3 files timecyc.aaa timecyc.dat and timecycp.dat

 

I put them like this: modloader/Timecyc mod/3 files and it doesnt work at all,I tried with every gta_sa.exe crack but doesnt work neither. Help me.

Woops, I should've said that more clearly. Timecyc mods don't work with Modloader and SAMP currently.

Hello, it's me again.

 

OK, so I've stopped using ModLoader for sometime, because i didn't know what was causing my game to constantly freeze. Anyways, I reinstalled whole game, and then I began to slowly mod it all over from scratch.. I was using IMG Manager, and everything was working perfectly, no freezes, crashes anything.. untill sometime ago I came to install new skins, and it told me it didn't have enough space and sh*t I didn't understand..

 

Anyways, I thought of going back to ModLoader because of how easy it was to install mods and all that, and I thought the freezing problem had gone because maybe you released a new version, I dunno, anyways, I redownloaded, ML, I installed modloader, and I installed lots of mods that I had installed on IMG Manager too, but the problem is.. I went ingame, and I froze again. So my question is, why is this problem happening to me? am I installing mods in a wrong way using modloader? Has this happened with anyone else? It didn't freeze on IMG Manager, so that means problem is from ModLoader this time? (I don't mean any offense)

 

Here's a picture of my modloader folder:screenshot_40.jpginside all of the folders, there is a folder called gta3 and inside it the files I want to install.. directly .txd and .dffs, no other folders after the gta3 one.)

Why am I freezing? Thanks.

Not really, pretty dark, this is the kind of error that should never happen, aka fatal errors :p

You can find out more about this error at translator_basic.hpp at std-asi source code.

To get out of the mess easily you could just delete std-asi.dll from modloader/.data/plugins folder and give up installing ASI and CLEO mods inside this loader, not a big loss since those do not replace files.

Upload modloader.log after the crash @ pastebin.com or somewhere else and send it, I can't magically know why the crash happened by looking at ya folder :p. Besides, the in development version is getting pretty different from the current version (code wise), so I can't really give bug fixes until then.

And nope, I don't think there was a new version since the last time you used this.
