Hi there, since a fixed ML build is gonna be up fairly soon, figured I could put a pre-release link here for people to test in case something is still wrong :)

This build fixes a race condition in CdStream functions (as mentioned in SP topic), so with this ML build you should never freeze on exiting interiors/loading models anymore. Let me know if anything goes wrong!

 

Only modloader.asi and std.stream.dll are updated - the other files are taken straight from 0.3.5.

So modloader is broken when it comes to importing files into gta3.img. Very disappointed at the VC version of modloader, because the SA version doesn't have this problem. Here is the log. The only file that is being modified is tit_wank.txt, my own custom Harley Quinn Spotlight mod. No other mods are being installed in the gta3.img:

The problem starts when it tries to import a file into gta3.img. All the folders have the right permissions and I am the administrator. I also made sure to run the GTA Vice City game under administrator. I have no idea why this is happening but it is very frustrating. I will probably just install all of my mods manually as it would take less time than messing around with this modloader garbage. I have Vice Cry 1.8 With the hotfix installed if that matters. Vice Cry 1.8 does modify the .exe but I also tried it with my original 1.0 .exe and it still doesn't work. So yeah, can someone tell me what is going on?

 

EDIT: Figured it out, Modloader is INCOMPATIBLE with the latest version of Fastman92's Limit Adjuster. Please fix this because Open Limit Adjuster is incompatible with Vice Cry 1.8. Same here, modloader is very picky when it comes to installing and loading the mods. If you have a big total conversion mod like Vice Cry 1.8 it makes it even worse. I just gave up on modloader.

All Vice Cry 1.8 does is make all the textures HD. It doesn't add any content. It is a graphics mod, Modloader should still work.

There is no way to solve it I am afraid, well that I know of. But I think this long silence from this particular forum has affirmed my findings, Modloader is forever broken for GTA Vice City. The Author of this particular mod loader isn't fixing any issues and has given up on the project. Just install the mods manually or only install CLEO mods like I do. It will be a lot less work installing them manually than trying to get your mods to work with modloader, believe me I wasted a entire weekend trying to get it to work. Just save yourself the trouble of screwing around with this broken piece of sh*te!

LOL. Why do you say that is broken? Is working fine for me since first release for VC (even GTA III) until the unification update to unofficial v0.3.6 that includes @Silent's fix. So if you don't know how to install it properly doesn't means that don't work and you can't speak sh*t about it.

I'm pretty sure that User Tracks is the reason why you had the crash. Don't use User Tracks, it's better to use ATP if you want to listen to your favorite song in-game.

Thanks for the advice. I just realise the User Track sometimes gave me crash for some random reasons when i switch the radio to User Track

hello, well I have no idea if this is where I can ask, but come on, I come all humility a modding gta, ask one thing, I'm one of the main developers of the tc gta brazil project and we are using the modloader's features to make tc work without needing to replace in the game, this facilitates a lot, not only for the fans, but for us too, only that there is something that is lacking could help us a lot. It would be the modloader reading the ogg audios. we want to make a dubbed version of gta sa, but because of that we are limited to performing such an act in some audios. if you could do an update by adding this feature, I would be grateful. I know that for such a thing it may take time and I understand if I can not do it or do not want to do it, because it will not be used much, but thank you in the end.
