Got 2 bugs :

1) The cursor lines on the map don't follow the cursor all the way to the left on high resolutions. Mentioned this before, but I don't think I got an answer.

2) Special outfits get replaced by previous normal outfits, if the player tries on clothes, gets wasted or busted.

I installed the silent patch to fix the widescreen issue for GTA SA. It now has widescreen but the map and the menu looks stretched out, any way I can fix this? Please help me!

 

And btw thanks to the guy who made this, it's f*cking amazing.

Silent Patch adds higher resolutions, it doesn't fix the widescreen. You need Widescreen Fix by ThirteenAG for that.

When I added the widescreen fix you mentioned, the game didn't open.

 

I uninstalled and reinstalled it totally, installed the widescreen fix carefully, and then copied the silents asi loader into the files too. It worked.

 

But when I copy silentpatch files, the game doesn't open at all, any idea? I really don't want to miss out on the silentpatch. I want both of them.

Are you sure you're using a 1.0 hoodlum.exe (since it's the most compatible for modding)?

I found a exe file named "GTA_SA.EXE" I downloaded it and copied it to my game folder. And opened it, it worked, then I installed the silent patch(the two files) and it didn't open.

Any help ?

Now I removed the silent patch files and it works again...

I'd suggest downloading SAMP and getting the EXE (gta_sa.exe) from there. Also, did you download Widescreen Fix from here (the first zip)?

Try changing the compability settings (properties of the EXE), select Windows Me for example.

There's two "vobisFile.dll" one from silent patch asi loader and one from widescreen fix, tried both with the silent patch files.

Aaah you didn't mention that. You'd be very lucky if anything works with wine. Don't expect much. The best you can do is set up a VM if you have enough hardware resources.

I've found the mods don't work well on wine (well, nothing works very good on wine, but those don't work at all). Of course they work well on windows, they were made for windows, the same as SA.

Firstly I want to thank you very much, if you haven't stopped me telling this, I would have wasted another day or so trying to make it work.

 

I'm probably going to use the widescreen patch only from now on, or maybe delete it and install only SilentPatch. I'm not sure which one to use now. It sucks I can't have both. 

 

And thank you again for helping me!, I talk very often in Gta 6 speculation thread, maybe I'll see you there!

You should probably opt for silent patch over widescreenfix (and just use the in-game widescreen option). Without silentpatch the game is pretty seriously broken.

Do you know SA TTD which is beta version for SA, contains more element before release, I want to play with it, but looks like SilentPatch cannot workwith it?

Could you help have a look for it?

 

Then maybe I can load lager img for it.
