The patch doesn't seem to load on my SA downgraded to v1.0. It doesn't load either from the root directory or "scripts" folder.

Apart from the downgrading patch and CLEO, the game is a freshly installed copy.

I'm using CLEO 4.3 which claims to install the ASI Loader as well.

I guess a log would be useful here, then. Does the game not start at all or does it crash?

It works fine, it just doesn't load the patch as if it wasn't installed. No crashes.

 

EDIT: Nevermind, it seems I used a wrong downgrader.

But now, there's another problem: messed up heli rotor alpha. :/ Only the Maverick seems to be affected, though.

you must use the maverick files . its found pages ago and sorry , wont do that for you

Btw. Is an enabled radio in FBI Rancher an effect of the patch? :p

Sorry in case this has been postet already:

The wet road reflection does not work on the entire map. As far as I can tell it's not working in Venturas and the dessert.

Already been mentioned before, this is because of IDE Flags, it's not a bug.

Regarding TTDISA specific fixes:

 

A bit off-topic, but I've ported most of the script fixes from TTDISA to the regular main.scm (excluding jetpack + cellphone icons and extra stuff such as dialogue and altered storyline missions). I actually did this a year ago for myself, but I can share it if people are interested. This is stuff that can't be fixed by SilentPatch, but are often brought up on this thread.

 

Keep in mind that this is a personal script, which means I made a few changes of my own:

 

- Removed knives from Grove Street members after 100 tags are sprayed (because they're useless).

- Cesar's Savanna is parked at his house during certain points of the storyline.

- Permanently removed Ryder's Picador from Grove Street after 'Photo Opportunity'.

- Claude (NOT Woozie) will drive a ZR-350 rather than an Elegy in 'Farewell My Love' (and the color will be more similar to the cutscene model). I also removed the Off-Road wheels from CJ's ZR-350.

- The Truth's Camper will always look exactly the same as its cutscene model (it usually has different colors and body variations).

- A few parking positions such as the bikes on the bike school were fixed.

- Added the 'force_spawn' flag on more vehicles. This includes the vehicles on Groove Street, which means you won't have to jack a car after loading a save from CJ's home anymore.

- Changed the Chunky Bullet with a Phoenix. You already get a Bullet for completing the driving school anyway.

- Speaking of the driving school, the vehicles you get as rewards will no longer have a fixed color (or fixed license plate, in the case of the Hotknife).

- Removed random vehicle on Madd Dogg's mansion and added a Stafford (silver with custom license plate) and a Huntley (dark gray with custom license plate) there, like on 'Madd Dogg's Rhymes' (available after 'A Home in the Hills').

- Oh and girlfriends' progress is a lot quicker. I think it's three times or so, because I hate the dating system in this game.

 

Oh, and you need to replace the lahills_stream2.ipl and countryn_stream1.ipl files if you want Toreno's unique Washington parked on his ranch and those two vehicles on Madd Dogg's mansion. You don't have to replace these files, but you won't get to see these vehicles otherwise (and replacing them after you save the game doesn't work).

 

Needless to say, you'll have to start a new game if you use this new main.scm and ipl files.

Yep that's a bummer, R* did a really half-assed job with these IDE files, something similar also happens to shadows.

Like they couldn't do it themselves. Strange. Sounds like they wanted to do it, but couldn't. They developed the game! And now it's up to silent programmer from Poland to fix the mess after them. Stuff becomes usual. Great work, btw.

Hey guys...

 

...just one simple question :

 

How is the texture name of that shadow covering moon (you know...doing moon phases)

 

I need to resize it. Since I've been using a smaller moon, that shadow has become unproportionally big.

You should really include an .ini option to use the lunar mask texture on particle.txd. I suggest this because it looks really pixelated when using HD Moon textures, I'm forced to use IMFX for better looking moonphases ( and it obviously isn't the same method).

 

EDIT: And yeah smaller moons look weird with the default texture :S.

It'd be nice if fixed weapon VFX was toggleable too. Or if it was disabled while using IMFX, just like it is while using SA::Render.

I agree with you guys there. If we could have textured moon phases, we also could make more realistic moon phases. The current one looks like a circle being cut out of the moon. It should look a little more like this.

Speaking of moon phases, I would like to see more realistic lunar effects even on GTA V. I hope someone makes a mod for it. Basically, you would get the right moon phase, and it would be in the proper position in the sky. Each night, it would be at one phase in the cycle, and the next night, it would go onto the next phase. It would be in the right position too, relative to the phase it is in. Right now, you can get unrealistic stuff occurring. For example, a full moon appearing in the south, while the sun is setting. Another example is having the moon show a phase. For example, it could be dusk, and the old moon phase shows in the south. This is incorrect. The dark part is facing towards the sun, and the light part is facing away from the sun. It would be neat if it were possible to see some lunar effects occur. Some examples would be like the moon being in the lower atmosphere can cause its color to change. I also feel that it should be slightly more difficult to see stars in the city reign. Also, the moon phase would affect the lighting in the country side. If its a full moon, it would have the blueish lighting as it already does. But if it has a new moon, it would be darker. Personally, in GTA IV, I feel that on the default timecyc.dat, the nights of Extra Sunny, and Sunny should be switched. The Sunny night shows a full moon, but it is darker, and the extra sunny night has the blueish tint like when there is a full moon, but it lacks the full moon. On past GTA's, the moon stayed to the south, but in GTA V, it seems to just move around the sky in a circle. Hopefully it can have more work put into it some day.

 

This idea isn't really all that much needed, and the lunar effects aren't that noticeable, and that there are more important things that could be done, but I feel like it definitely would add a nice little touch of detail. I would rather see actual 3D clouds that you can fly through in GTA V with realistic weather patterns, over proper lunar effects, but regardless, it would be a nice little touch. There is a chance that proper lunar effects could be done as an improvement on the PC version.

You aint getting a texture, most you can hope for is a toggle to turn it off just to stop folks complaining.

It's a Patch. It fixes the errors, it corrects the mistakes. It only makes the game what it had to be in the first place, the way it was meant to be played. In no way it enhances anything. It's the first thing you ever install into your game (after ASI loader, of course). It's up to other developers to adapt their mods to work with SilentPatch.
