Do you have in-game AA turned on? If so, the videos won't display anything, I believe.

Man you are genius! Yes I did have turned AA on and after I turn it off videos start to working!

So it is a real bug and probably should be fixed.

This has been spoken a long time ago, since around when Vista came out.

You can find a lot about this problem on google.

We've tried looking into this before though, there's a reason why for VCS PC we chose to go with BINK video instead, all these little work arounds, etc, are not a guarantee for everyone and the video player for San Andreas is pretty much borked to the point where we don't know why it does what it does, it got to the point where it was pretty much easier to just rip out the video player and completely rewrite up a new one for BINK instead. Early plans for the SA version of SilentPatch was to do the same (I still have the BINK videos for the SA logo/gtatitles), but the code was only done for the Compact EXE, and would have required a hell of a lot more time to try and get working on the vast mountain of San Andreas EXE's that are spread out all over the place.

I remeber the Bink intros. The code is 100% done for the compact exe? Well, then include it on the next release of the patch, with a separate download for the video files. People with non compact exe won't feel any difference anyway.

I agree this would be nice to have even if only for one type of EXE.

OK, is there anyone who ever had the crash on vehicles explosion?

Not me, but I remember having a cleo script where the driver doesn't fall out of the car if shot, like in GTA IV and it would always crash me.

That's @DK22Pac's death_in_car script. I've never experienced a crash from it though.

Not that. I want a log of this crash people bring up at Steam often. But Steam idiots won't ever help me when I ask for help.

EDIT:

And now the guy I thought will help me is trying to get out of the situation and saying R* will probably fix it overtime. ffs, this sh*t is cursed

Interestingly I had them two or three times (playing/testing time on that game installation about 10-15h) though I wasn't sure which mod was responsible.

It happend when blowing up lots of vehicles with the minigun. Unfortunally the scrlog was empty afterwards and reproduction of the crash was not possible.

Ohter noteworthy mods installed are: Open Limit Adjuster, fastloader, vehiclelightsfix and BlackRoadsFix (rest of the mods are mostly just minor txd changes). All installed with modloader. Exe US 1.0

(Also once I had a crash when flying with the Hydra over East Los Santos to check out increased draw distance.)

I hope that helps.

btw: Congratulations on your 2 awards.

Interesingly, I found the crash address (0x005D6926) online on SA-MP forums... but why the hell building colours interpolation crashes?

That means SilentPatch's NVC shader fixes it though!

I'm kinda sure that unless you touch windows codecs (and disable desktop composition) sh*t doesn't happen.

I'd love to know if its graph looks like this

Tried it on various hardware, the disable desktop composition is the most likely fix to work along with the disable AA, but there are still times where those don't work as well, why, who knows, the video player is just badly done, that lack of ultimate fix is why again we chose to ditch it and work in our own that also takes other things into consideration like spect Ratio, etc, so the videos should display normal despite your resolution.

BTW, about those videos in VCSPC. Since PS2 intros are exactly the same as PSP ones, the 16:9 video with black bars, maybe in higher quality, wouldnt it be better to cut these bars, so the video plays full screen? Square-display users won't lose anything anyway.

PS. Maybe even remaster them in 1080p using original artworks and stuff?

Nope, PS2 ones are full frame, only some screens are letterboxed, but most of them are expanded out to use the rest of the screen space.

Patrik2000_CZ

No crashes, it crashes only when I spawn Predator or Vortex, but no crashes. Also San Andreas map and buildings textures are terrible.

I need to turn off EnableScriptFixes, if I play with TTDISA? Gym and Basketball Glitch fixes already in this mod.

Then no, I don't think so.

The game just uses Windows built-in codecs.

It's not like it's a hardware problem.

Anyway, when I figured out not even WMP could play them, I reset direstshow and everything started to work.

Your observation about aspect ratio is a good point though

Still, I would find despicable to convert already existing movies, given that you'll always loose some quality

Ew, who would do that? I didn't, the BINK files I made were sourced from the PS2 files, which look better because they used MPEG-2 and the audio was 48Khz LPCM, I even posted a screenshot months back when the SA version MIGHT have included it showing the quality differences in the transitions where the PC version would pixelate where as the BINK videos I converted did not and remained smooth.

As for the codec thing, we tried that! Seriously, do you think we didn't look at the possible ways to fix this, the movie files still played in WMP on systems that had no codec packs and one the ones that did have newer codec packs installed, etc, there was just no direct easy fix to get those bastards working due to the badly thought out code.

Steam discussions are literally worst of worst. Full of clueless dumbasses. I bet GTAV discussions are even worse than ones here on GTAF.

The Steam topic links to the PCGW section SilentPatch is in... he clearly didn't read the topic before posting.

That sh*t makes me want to buy a business class air ticket, fly to his home, cut off his testicles and force him to

eat them and finally I'll fork out his damn eyes with a spoon and glue them on his monitor to actually see this topic to get the real SilentPatch.

1.1 for III/VC released! Ships new fixes and, what's more important, fixes bugs introduced by 1.0 :(

For III:

  • Mouse will not go beyond the game rect now, allowing to play the game on multimonitor setups without problems
  • In 1.0, armour cheat is now TORTOISE - just like in 1.1 and Steam versions
  • In 1.0, BOOOOORING cheat now works properly - just like in 1.1 and Steam versions

VC:

  • Mouse should not lock up randomly when exiting the menu on newer systems anymore
