@silent Can you include these fixes from TTDiSA :

 

- The game now correctly uses and refers to 'Los Sepulcros' as a specific area in Los Santos (it is

normally treated as part of 'Vinewood').

 

- Fixed game bug where there was no police announcement when you attained a wanted level in the Queens

area of San Fierro.

 

- Fixed game bug in Los Santos - the Temple area is no longer announced as Sunnyside on police radios.

- Fixed game glitch where the Ballas gang no longer treated you as an enemy when you entered their

territories after completing or quitting certain side-missions (this is most notable with the 'Pimping'

side-mission).

 

- Corrected zoning in San Fierro, the west-side beach zone is now known as Sunnyside rather than being

part of Ocean Flats.

2nd and 3rd are fixed, don't know about the others...

 

@-Quantum- your codecs are probably screwed around, try using the Codec Tweak Tool, and try to fix the codecs with it.

After deleting a few save files using the "Delete Game" option in-game, one of my save files reads "03 [NULL] 2015". Is this a bug of some sorts that can be patched?

Shortcut properties, compatibility tab, check Disable Desktop Composition or something like that.

As I said before, I tried every advice that I found in the internet and nothing is helped me. Including your advice too.

 

Only other thing that might mess it up are codec packs.

Off topic - And stay away from coded packs. Either get VLC or KMPlayer (the first one if you are a click and play guy, second one if you like to tweak the hell of your things)

MPCHC or mpv, just install and it plays all the videos.

Everything ABOVE 30fps may cause bugs. I don't know if in GTA III this also applies.

If by fine you mean "my videos are working in other players" then you can't be sure. SA uses some ancient codec that you might've replaced without knowing it. I get this bug too only in SA, but I don't feel like tracking down the codec.

So if this one is the real problem then it should be fixed anyway. Who will bother to search this "ancient codecs"? No one. It must work correctly on modern pc's without any bother.

And it's interesting why gta 3 and VC videos are working fine while SA is not? Different codecs again? So I have "ancient codecs" that plays gta 3 and VC videos but I don't have some stupid "ancient codec" that plays specifically SA videos? That's ridiculous!

Both games are using MPEG1 for videos. It's definitively not the new H.265, but it's not something so exotic. And besides it's not like they had so many options back in the PS2 times.

If I had to tell a difference between the behavior of the two games, it would be that with the default name of the Steam edition executable "gta-vc.exe", windows automatically recognizes it as "problematic" and automaticlaly disable desktop composition. With SA instead, the default name should use _ (underscore) instead of - (hypen) and nothing is triggered out-of-the-box.

 

And said this, you never know what dlls R* could have statically linked with the game (ok, if you disassemble it you could, but I sucks with IDA)

 

In the end, if you are really sure that you already disabled desktop composition.. did the video play with WMP?

Because I really find hard AA has even effects with plain videos like these..
