It makes that nice swishing sound when people race with catch up on and traffic off. And the sound when you go through a tunnel or under an overpass. Anyone notice it's all the same sound no matter what vehicle your in. With the exception of bikes.

Yeah they do make hp. I've taken them off the cars I like the sound on and then put back on after a couple days and I notice it.

 

That would be a cool upgrade is different blow off valves ehh?

My experience is as follows:

On a car like crbonizarre, accel is maxed out after engine n transmission upgrades so adding turbo is useless other than the sound.

On a car like the exemplar, there is still room to upgrade accel after engine n tranny upgrades. Therefore turbo adds to accel.

Adding a turbo to a car with maxed stats still makes it faster.

I did a test with my lap times on Taking Off by adding a turbo to an already maxed acceleration Adder, it reduced the lap times.

Yes and no. You see, the turbo is the more traction to the real acceleration exaggerated. So the turbo DOES do a sh*t.

EDIT: and to translate, I'd guess he is asking if traction is the limiting factor for acceleration and hence whether turbo is just a waste of money because you'll just lose traction.

As for the topic at hand, yes, turbo does affect the vehicle's performance. While it may result in a bit more tire spin when you initially take off, this doesn't occur past first gear so traction has little to with truly affecting acceleration.

The vehicle stat bars in game are not accurate. If you use the iFruit app you will see the effects better of each available mod.

Yeah, I noticed you could increase the acceleration stat past the end of the bar with turbo in many cases.

Those stats are mostly meaningless anyway though. If you're a decent driver and you're driving a car you like then you're going to learn how to drive that vehicle to it's strengths anyway.

I'll be constructive then. Yes, performance does seem to increase after the stat bar (in LSC) is maxed. Also the stat bars in LSC give entirely different information to the stat bars you see when selecting a car at the start of a race.

Hahaha I didn't notice that. I guess that lends more weight to the idea that the stat bars are almost entirely meaningless past giving you an extremely vague idea of the vehicle's strengths.

You mean NOS. Turbo what does it get's in air and boost your engine a little bit.. that "Whistle" you hear is the sound of air intake and the valve.
