Is GTA 5 Still Worth Buying For Online?

Hey guys,

 

Not posted for a while since I sold my PS3 and GTA V 3 weeks ago and bought a PS4.

 

I only had the PS3 for GTA 5 and if I bought a PS3 again it would be only for GTA.

 

Ever since selling I've missed GTA Online ALOT! I thought once I got a PS4 I would no longer miss it but truth be told I still miss it as much as ever.

 

I was rank 170 when I left. Will my character still be availble to me as it's saved to the cloud I think? If not there's no point in me getting GTA back as I'm not starting out from fresh.

 

Now... what's concerning me the most is the amount of things I've heard recently about GTA. When I played I was clued up on everything about GTA Online but since selling up I completely stopped following the game.

 

I've heard there's been rank glitching and players ranking up easily and quickly.On top of these apparently people have 10s and 100s of millions now? I just don't want to start up from where I left off to find myself so far behind and see EVERYONE high rank with money to last a life time.

I used to work with a guy who would buy an xbox and a bunch of games, then decide he wanted a PS3 so he'd sell the xbox and games to get the PS3 and then buy some games and then he'd switch back to xbox and so on.

He lost thousands of dollars selling systems and buying them back again when he wanted to.

We laughed at him a lot for how stupid he was.

You should probably buy a PS3 again.

PS3 would only be for GTA 5 as I have no interest in any other games as I'm content enough with BF4 and Fifa 14 on PS4 for now, I just miss GTA

 

Oh and I've never own an Xbox. Playstation FTW!

If you still have your credentials for your PSN account then all your stuff will be there even if you buy a new console.

 

As for "is it still worth it?" ...You need to ask yourself that. There's games like Call of Duty (shooters), Forza (racers) and then GTA which mixes all elements the best they can... I still very much enjoy the game even with its flaws.

I do still have my PSN as I sign in with it on my PS4. I can still see and talk to all my friends I met on GTA 5 when they're on line with their PS3 systems.

I'd buy it just for the story side of the game. Online is a mess right now, but patch 1.09 is coming soon, so fingers crossed the DNS hacks are stopped.

I don't think the console modders will be stopped any time soon though, but they are quite rare to come by best Rockstar could do with those is nerf things they can do in terms of modding files.

why did you get rid of the PS3 in the first place? I can't imagine you got more than $50 for it. ...and did you sell your copy of GTA 5 as well? for $20?

 

well, its hard to sympathize with you. Now your gonna pay at least twice as much to get those two items back. that was dumb. not sayin your dumb.

 

I say just move on. there isn't a lot of titles out right now, but there will be much more to come this spring for the PS4.

 

what you should have done is waited for steambox. you could have your cake and eat it too. GTA 5 will come to PC soon enough, and when it does it will be better then ever.

 

 

I'm waititng for a steam box. the console vs PC debate or war, or whatever you want to call it is over. you say PS FTW, I say SteamBox FTW!

I had a 500GB superslim PS3 as I bought it only when GTA 5 came out. I paid £199 for them both brand new which is about $326. I sold them both for £160 which is $262 so I lost $64 but I didn't care about that as it was worth the fun GTA provided. Your figures were wayyyyyyy out lol.

 

If I was too buy back I can buy a used ps3 with a used copy of GTA 5 for £90 which is $147...

I like GTA but the thing has been hacked by so many people.So many people have 100s of millions and more or given money each day.A friend of mine got GTA for Christmas and after an hour of playing some guy gave him 100million.Unless you can easily afford to buy a PS3 again, then don't buy one.If your super rich buy whatever you want.Especially a Lamborghini.Everybody likes a Lamborghini.Buy the Lamborghini.

Starting out from fresh isn't bad. It's only bad for those who glitched their $ and leveled up by cheats. Those players are spoiled and don't know what it's like to start from the bottom and SLOWLY get up there. I'm on my second character and level 7 with $140k. Just so I can garage and fix up the cars I want. My first toon is also legit at level 81 with all the fancy cars fully modded so it's kind of boring now. I'm having more fun grinding my second toon and trying to find the cars I want again than my 81 toon who is maxed out everything.

 

GTA5 online is still fun.

The game is still fun if you make it fun.

 

Getting billions isn't as bad as glitching Rank points since billions are useless if you are low level and can't buy say the assault rifles, locked tattoos and other stuff.

 

I'm a legit Rank 81 and a unsolicited Billionaire and none of that matters in my fave thing: Deathmatches.

My billions are useless and my rank means nothing if someone can shoot and knows the map sweet spots.

The only advantage I have found is in Races where others don't have custom cars and my vehicles just beast the f*ck out.

 

I have a tank I haven't even used and today I almost pulled it out against some moron in Free Mode. But I said why waste my time on that poor fool when I can be in a Deathmatch!!!! So I let him live, he probably thought he scared me when I just felt sorry for him and had better things to do. lol.

Tbh the next-gen/PC version of GTA will probs be better (no hackers, better graphics, smoother etc. etc.) just wait for it to release. Until then play DayZ, like I am

Nah, GTA Online is crap, was fun for the first few days thats it. Only players in GTAO are kids and alvery few mature people.

 

Its sure as hell not worth it, IVs MP was way better and i clocked over a thousand hours on it.

Go get another ps3. Not just for GTAV but for the many games you never tried that wont be on the ps4. Fallout, Gta4, Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim, etc,etc. All those games are super cheap and gives you something to do while they make great games for the ps4.
