I've spent the past 2 hours trying to play a deathmatch and all freemode sessions I'm put in with 1 or 2 other players instead of the usual 16.

Usual 16? Where do you get those players from? It's always been only me or a couple of guys when I host/join a job.

Maybe it's location based. I usually get connected to full servers now they're empty..

Maybe it's because yesterday they spent all day with their families and now today it's boxing day and people are now just buying the game or people playing the games they got yesterday. None-the-less it's just like the first few weeks of GTAO. Hopefully our character's don't get deleted like the first few weeks.

Same problem here, although, it's eased a bit but not much, deathmatches and missions are still a no-go, but I was placed in a free-mode session with about 9 players about 30minutes ago, still laggy as f*ck though, people just magically appearing behind me and killing me, auto-aim not locking and random session time-outs. It's a mess.
