A little confused about missions

I went to see Trevor but it's not clear what I need to do for him. Ron would text me random jobs but thats about it. I was working to open up Lester's missions but I can't tell if I'm going in the right direction. Right now, I just wait for a job to come to the job list in my phone, is that the best way to do it?

You can phone them and request a job. Or just quick join a mission, which lets you play missions above your level.

So far Lester only has remove the wanted level and locate a car is available when I call him. I might try doing the quick join, that might fix my problem.

There should be a 'Request Job' option that should unlock for you.

Lester at lvl 20.(mainly 'Cops Capacity')

Ron at lvl 30.

Trevor will randomly start calling after lvl 25.

As for Martin, I haven't gotten that far with my 2nd character just yet & it's been since launch that I was that low of a lvl with my 1st

To get new jobs you have to wait till someone (Martin, Lester...) gives you one..Request Job is like a replay button that won't help.

 

Another way is to play random: Phone-->quick job-->missions. Sometimes there are awesome missions.

I think thats my problem. I'm level 21/22 I can't remember for sure.
