GTA Online money question

Hello, gta v is the first online game of this type I have ever played and had a strange incident happen the other day. I killed a player that had a bounty and when I picked up their cash my screen alerted me to hit an ATM that I had more than $5000. When I went to make a deposit, it was $197,000,000. Now my player shows the money and and it is in blue and says "shared" does this mean someone just gave me millions or is it some sort of mistake?

Yes. You've been a victim of a modder. The money is an illegal amount. Rock Star are banning people for receiving said gifts, but are aware of peoples activities and say they are going after habitual givers and receivers (basically those being invited and intentionally entering modded lobbies. Unfortunately a lot of people are falling into free sessions where these modders also operated and are being landed with serious money. I've been hit 3 times and after a bit of dicking around deleted my character and killed off all the money by withdrawing all the money from the bank via an atm and deleting the affected character (personal choice that as I wanted to restart. You can simply create a second character as a dummy in order to withdraw the unwanted money away from your leveled up character anytime you are affected (there are better instructions on the web on how to do this)

So basically what you are saying is I am a victim of a cheater? I am at level 35 and it has taken me quite a while to get there, if I can get rid of the error without having to start over, that would be how I would like to do it. Can anyone point me toward instructions on how to fix this?

Firstly go to R* support on http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us and fill in a request slip (submit a request link beside the sign in button) (this is the R* instruction). If you do this be prepared to wait. Other than this put all the unwanted money into the bank, set up a new character in the game, go through the usual introductory hoops and at the earliest opportunity (between the race and first gerald mission go to the nearest 24/7 (across the road), extract all the money (or whatever the difference is from what you previously had) into the new characters pocket and then either delete the new character or let them sit there in case you get hit again so that they can withdraw the unwanted money from the bank.
