Forced vs Owned (DM)

  1. 1. Do you prefer to use pick-up weapons only, or your own weapons for DM?

So I was hosting some DMs and I noticed you can turn off the ability to use your own weapons in DMs. I found this to be much more fun than the usual Carbine fest that everyone else plays. I feel that I have a lot more fun using the guns on the ground, especially now that there are a lot of players who essentially have unlimited money due to gifted money going around.

Not only does this setting even the playing field, I find it makes the maps more interesting and unique due to weapons being located differently. You have far less ammo and you find yourself using whatever you can find, imo its far more tactical than the mindless DMs out there.

Only downside is you might wanna show off your new tints for weapons, but I suppose you can always do that in normal games or in Missions.

I have a mixture of both on my created TDMs. Although if I put it on 'owned + pickups' and there are lots of low ranks in the lobby I'll change the setting.

I change it based on location. One of my TDMs is purely assault rifles and it is one of my favourites.

EDIT - 'forced + pickups' also means no silencers so it kinda makes it 'blips on' setting...

I tend to have more fun actually figuring out ways to flank and kill campers. Nothing more satisfying than beating someone at their own game.

Yeah forced mostly just gives lower level players a chance. And depending on what weapons you drop changes how the battle is fought. I like to place heavier weapons out in the open to flush people out of cover.

Owned is good for larger maps though. Though you should drop a lot of high level weapons for the lower level players.

Owned is definitely better for the larger maps. My larger maps that I made are the ones I play owned on.

Weapon settings are completely pointless, then again so are TDMS with auto aim though. Free aim FTW.
