Okay, so it was nice to debut these things on Christmas. True.

 

But.. what about people with lives? I was playing in the morning for a bit, then I was with the family, and some friends for the rest of the day.

 

Came back, at like 11 pm and it's already gone? The hell was the point of that? Glad I got some pictures.

 

Shame we don't have any area like Tall Trees in the mountains, or something.

OMG, does anyone believe that Rockstar should dicate what they do in the game around each individual's schedule? Is that a sincere complaint?

I really liked the idea of some christmas spirit in the game, its a Fun little thing to give us. I only wished the snow would have looked a bit better, like in the North Yankton, but it proberly would be a lot of work for R* to make that on the entire map.. But all in all I think it was Fun, also the x mas clothes

Im kind of tired of it after a good few hours.

 

I have streets like that outside my house, its kind of nice to escape to an imaginary hot place and see palm trees and sandy beaches when its 2 outside.

You should move to someplace that has palm trees and sandy beaches and is hot in December. It's great.

 

I lived in Cali for a year, it was fantastic BBQing in January, where im use to stay under a blanket for most hours at home. But i missed home and moved back, you get use to the cold, its not as bad when your use to living with it. Plus after it snows its gorgeous, and the best thing about living with real winters, is that you enjoy 4 season and get to experience he different fluctuations and its kind of a sentimental thing if you appreciate that sh*t.

How do I make a sensibile argument about how it makes no sense to release snow for a day only on a day when people are busy for the most part.

I enjoyed it... first thing I did was grab my Sultan RS and go to the mountains for some snowy dirt raging... I wont lie when I ended up in the river a few times after flying off the side of a cliff but that made it all the better.... I even dressed my toon up for the snow.

 

Here in Colorado we get snow pretty heavy in the winters... it doesnt stick around too long which is nice but I enjoy the slippery physics of handling a car well in the snow. I didnt have time to do much racing or anything, mostly free roaming... but overall, I am glad its gone... like its cool and all, but they half assed it... like nothing was really covered in snow, snow didnt collect... meh.. if you do snow you gotta do it right like North Yankton.... but oh well, was a neat little gift.

how are people missing the point fo this... Rockstar made a reason for people who wouldnt normally have played on xmas day to login and play.. thats it...

 

obv it might have been fun to have the snow for longer... but thats the point of limited time offer. i went online on xmas day for about 10 mins..why... just to get a snap of me in the snow and share with my crew... i wouldnt have gone online on xmas day otherwise, i had more important plans... so yes im gullible... yes i bought into the hype... thats what it was there for...

 

if you didnt make the time to jump online and play in the snow..its your fault you missed out, complaining on a forum that your so hard done to isnt going to change it, there was ample notice of the snow, more than enough confirmation that it was for 24 hours only... so just go an put on a santa mask and feel ironic in the sands of the senora desert... otherwise youll be back here on jan 5th complaining that you didnt get to use your elf hat or santa mask and how rockstar are determined to screw over hardcore fans with clever marketing gimicks...

Whats the logic in Rockstar not having a CHRISTMAS event not during the week of Christmas because YOU have plans is a better question?

Generally events last more than 24hours in multiplayer / online games precisely for some of the reasons OP stated. Why make an event at all if you only give it a very small window during a busy time ? What is the point if only a minority of the playerbase is going to see it ?

 

Obviously that event didn't add much apart from a change in scenery and some temporary outfits but still...a week's worth would have been appreciated.
