Anyone here play with self imposed restrictions?

I used to play with the radar off, but its worn off on me. Im finding one of the best long running restrictions is always spawn from property, and never join a game via the job menu or by the map.

 

In other words, your only means of joining a job is by accepting contact jobs, or by driving to the launchpad for a specific job and most likely hosting it.

 

I personally prefer driving to jobs now as it gives your play session a smoother flow, it actually feels like your character is travelling around the map and progressing as you buy property instead of just going from game to game as fast as you can.

Guess its not worth their time for such a small population that cant host only join... Making tanks even stronger though is worth their time.

I try to limit the amount of weapons I use. I try to keep it realistic and use only a rifle, pistol, a few grenades, and the knife for melee. Certainly forces you to think tactically.

I'm sure I'm not the only one, and I'm not sure if this counts. Intentionally driving a slower non modified car, to have a more realistic driving experience.

Why don't I just go out and drive you say?

Because in Gta I can shoot bad drivers.

I really like the realistic weapons choice style, it certainly adds greater depth. I normally play with the map off as well, and have done the waiting for jobs by contact or, better yet, offers from in game players. Driving to the circles is great, it really helps to learn the map in my opinion. Great post, thank you.

I have so many personal restrictions & the game complements them so well. Kinda wish the whole server could be set with restrictions just to change the way people play. Like without blips, it makes you look and listen I stead of just staring at the minimap... really enhaces the game imo.

You have auto invite on don't you?

 

I have never had any luck inviting people from a session, only from inviting friends/crew and having auto invite on. That's where you get results.

I don't spend any gifted money on myself. This is my only rule, because I didn't earn it.

 

But I use the money to fully modify cars for crewmates and random low levels.

Just wanna extend my OP with a few points. By only doing missions from the launchpad, your properties location sorta has more value. You will find yourself doing missions nearby, and its kinda cool doing jobs within the same area that you live in, you get to know different parts of the map as you move around.

 

Also the pros of hosting are that you can choose your own race class and you can play forced + pickups, imo this is a cool way to do DMs because it puts players on equal footing and you gotta learn how to navigate the map more to get better guns.

 

Oh and once you vote back to freeroam if you want to keep the immersion, should others go back to freeroam they are put back into your "bubble", they spawn in your little freeroam area so its a way to engross other players into what you are doing. I also like to drive around in non-PVs (Paleto Bay is only a 2 door) and I have found if I return to freeroam after hosting a DM, I pop right back into the car I was using in freeroam, its a nice transition and keeps up the immersion.

Same here, i don't use a tank, and i don't treat freeroam like a deathmatch circle jerk like 90% of everyone else in the server

Depends how you use a tank, despite hating players in tanks and dumping them out at sea, I purchased a tank, but I only bring it out when players are intentionally repeatedly pissing me off and I don't fire unless fired upon.

Although to be perfectly honest, I have a habit of destroying chrome Adders if I see them.

I don't level legitamately because that takes too long, and I raped the first rp glitched that was discovered. I dedicated 2 hours of rp glitching to reach lvl 120 (back in the day). Compared to someone that would take weeks to get to lv 120.

 

Also i try not to drive as much as possible. I have playlists set up so that I would teleport to anywhere I want to go on the map.

 

I also try not to use gunshops ever, instead I just join a survival games menu/lobby and use the "Buy all ammo for all guns" button. Instantly refills all my ammo in a split second.

 

Time is important to me.

sometimes I join a session..tape my hands together..and just smack my junk on the controller. unfortunately I can't rank up this way like I can on COD.. But as far as restrictions go.. I'm a millionaire with a pos house/2 car garage. Primo and a cavalcade. sure, I call helicopter backup in every mission.. who doesn't

I do that IRL, have been doing so for 20 years. At first I was doubtful I could do it, I could barely get out of bed and make it to the bathroom in the morning but I have finally gotten myself into a nice routine where I can run everywhere and NEVER walk.
