ArmoredxApple
I got an HP Envy for Christmas and was wondering how good it was and what games I can run with it. I'm really liking the computer so far, but would like to know what games it can run because I haven't bought any yet. Specs: 4th generation Intel Core i5-4430 Processor 12GB DDR3 system Memory 2TB Hard Drive Intel HD Graphics 4600 I think thats all you need, hopefully I'm not leaving anything out. yoječ
No dedicated graphics card == most games will run on low / very low details. Edited December 27, 2013 by yojo2
ArmoredxApple
So I need a new graphics card? I am a beginner with computer so do I just go out and buy one then install it, is it that easy? And how hard is it to install? The computer is an HP Envy 700-074 if that makes a difference. And which one would you recommend if I want to play games like Cod Ghosts, Fallout, Just Cause, Skyrim, etc... and it would be great if the card is available at Bestbuy and hopefully under 200$.Thanks Edited December 27, 2013 by ArmoredxApple
yoječ
Do you happen to know what power supply your PC has? The exact model would be nice to know.
ArmoredxApple
on the box it says 460w internal power supply. I hope that's what your asking for.
yoječ
Well - yeah, but that info isn't specific enough though.
zielarz119
model and brand of power supply? your cpu is good and 12GB is more than enough from NVIDIA you could get GTX660 for about £150 from AMD probably even cheaper for about the same performance (Radeon HD 7850 probably but I don't know about AMD) http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ultra-durable-2-gv-n65tboc-1gd-geforce-gtx-650-ti-boost-graphic-card/1308296690.p?id=mp1308296690&skuId=1308296690&st=gtx%20650%20ti&cp=1&lp=11 GTX 650 Ti (If you want different model of GTX 650 Ti make sure it have Ti after 650) for 150 dollars is not bad I think, ask others users to make sure if the card is worth the money Edited December 31, 2013 by zielarz119
Stinky12
Right now AMD card have gone way up in price due to it being a faster at cryptocurrency aka LiteCoins.AMD R9-280x which is basically a HD7970 GHz Edition with a slower clock used to sell for $300, but with most of them being gobbled up for mining, they are mostly sold out or its price have jumped up a lot to $400 or more. This makes it the same as the same price point as a R9-290. Now you may think to just get a R9-290. Well that and the R0-290x have gone up to and it's also very limited in stock as most are sold out. The 290 and 290x reference cooler is crap, so wait for the non reference coolers card to arrive if you want a 290 or 290x. Best option for a graphic card now is to get a Nvidia like GTX 760. It's gets even worse, some aftermarket like MSI R290X Twin Frozr IV costs nearyl or as the same as a GTX780 Ti! They both are €629-679! It is really getting retarded selling the AMD att hat high price just for the mining instead for gaming. Who the f*ck came up with that mining bullsh*t?! And not to mention the R280(X) has been sold out for months now in our country and it's very rare to get that GPU.

If AMD cards weren't that good with mining they won't sell out that fast. I head the new method is not to use gpus for mining since they uses too much energy, now it's with ASIC miners. Who started this whole monopoly money thing? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Litecoin Edited January 2, 2014 by Stinky12
