They can make a great feature out of this by letting the snow mode on for the whole winter season, every single year. But as far as I've seen Rockstar's been turning their back on other great opportunities for making this game much better than it already is

They probably won't update the snow cheat just, like they didn't use all the great feature that they built up so well in past gta's, just like they made it impossible to have fun switching between protags outside of a mission, they keep walking away or your console freezes, just like they didn't use some of the nice online features in sp, just like they still use the horrible garage system for saving cars when they have a perfect one for planes and boats, I could go on and on

Rockstar don't use their opportunities anymore so I don't see them doing anymore with the snow, which is a shame because it was so well done and I thought it made the countryside so much better.

I was doing a mission with 3 other guy's (stealing the rich guy's car's),they screwed around so I drove away. The one guy (he was a 150) completed it and got $125,000,000.00 (and this only pay's $1250.00). Since then,the snow is gone.

Uh, from my (attempted) experience, snow lobbies aren't really that common.

 

They could've just added a sub-menu to the "Find a new session" option in the Online menu; "Snow Yes/No". Then just make it search for whichever you chose.

 

Sounds pretty simple to me. But sounds and is aren't quite the same thing. So I don't know.

is the snow already gone?? i just got back on gta after not being on for a month and only got to drive in the snow for like an hour, shut off my ps3 then shortly after midnight got back online and the snows gone now...this happening for anybody else? thought it was gonna be snowy at least til January 5th or whenever they said.

 

Per RSGC the snow was only good for Christmas day i.e. 24 hours. The other clothing content, masks etc. are good until Jan 5th

Well you can always wait for the PC version.

GTA V will have a better snow mod there.

Seriously it seemed like R* just applied a white filter to the map and left really bad seams on the tunnels.

 

I'm really looking forward to this as well. I remember back in GTA IV, some modding genius made a snow mod which covered ALL of LC. That included ice on the roads, frozen icicles hanging off street lamps, fences, frozen fountains. And especially black ice on the roads and bridges which made vehicle handling that much more fun and challenging on missions and police chases.

I stayed in a snow server for hours so that people could have snow after midnight.

After getting bored, I figured I had to have a good memory of the awesome snow, so I took a plane out and took the best, coolest and most professional looking pictures I have ever taken.

 

 

 

After I took em I just stopped and admired them. I went like "Dayum!"

Not professional. There crooked.

But look at the bright side, we are getting alot of thing next year,GTA Online heists,Storymode Expansions(including an Alien Expansion,according to rumours)

 

Its too late for heists. R* f*cked up with most of the people anyway. Theres only kids left in GTA Online and very few mature players.

 

Oh and alien expansion.. oh please f*ck off with that. I'd play zombies but aliens... sigh. Saints Row got from awesome to f*cking bad with the 3rd and 4th games.

seriously rockstar are limited everything goddamnit first invincibility gets a five minute timer than snow that only last for a day and xmas clothing is gone on january 5th, it's like wishing for world peace which makes everybody stoned. f*cking rockstar.

It snowed when I lived in Arizona. In Lake Havasu City. So never say never. :-)

 

Anyway, I didn't play when there was snow, so I can't miss it, but really, having it for such a short time seems really lame. And taking back Christmas items? WTF is up with that?

Seems like a lot of effort for 24 hours. Although it was making the graphics glitch something terrible.

 

I agree. Why go through all the trouble of making this entire snowy map, just to have it for a day? Why not for a week, or for the first half of January. Or even, leaving half the servers in snow, and half in sun, so there is a healthy medium?

 

The only downside is the very low visibility in aircraft, and the really f*cked up fence sprites and graphics. Other than that, I see no harm in having snow for a while, Rockstar, Y U NO LIEK US :'(
