I loved the snow. It was fun and neat. It made me feel extra christmasy and as much as I wish I could go somewhere like North Yankton whenever I want, I like the snow being rare, maybe one week a year. Something special and fine. And I love all my GTAForum friends and welcome their opinion.

 

I wish everyone thought like you. I know I'm not as right as you because if I was I'd just ignore all the idiots. But I am glad there are people like you, JoeB, Watermelon, and a few others here.

Same sorta, was at Trevor's airfield fighting some guy who didn't want me to use any aircraft. It went from gloomy snow to BAM! bright desert. Killed the dude, sticky bombed the helicopter, took the plane, and was like holy crap the snow's gone! Yay! (Boom in the distance with a kill )

It would have been nice to keep the snow until Jan 5th as people say but, not with the way it was working...that is, being snowy in races despite selecting clear or even rain. I couldn't even get rid of it when using CC. If it was purely free roam only then yes, it was great but I'm pleased it's gone so I can continue my game(on my own in my little invite only session thanks to bloody cheats).

 

I think R* knew it might cause problems and as it's something they couldn't turn on/off from their end, they chose the best option of enabling it only for xmas day...to give us a white xmas, to remind people it is xmas and, probably because they suspected the lobbies would be quiet. On that and testing peoples response, I think there's every chance they'll re-enable it but hopefully, not until they make sure it can be turned off in race/missions etc if required. I hope also that they don't make it a permanent feature(selectable in race weather conditions like some suggest) but, maybe just through the winter months dec-jan.

Back on topic, I missed seeing the snow, and probably by less than 30 minutes. Pretty stupid on R*'s behalf to only have it for one day. I thought I saw a post by someone saying one of their reps say they were going to extend it until Jan 2nd, but I guess that was BS (no surprise). Maybe they'll change their mind, but I won't count on it.

Rockstar adds snow and people lose their minds. You have people complaining, you have people appreciating... People have different opinions. Throw some insults into the mix and the whole thing turns into a Jerry Springer show.

I personally really admired the snow, the atmosphere, the sky colors, slippery roads, a different look which made the game feel fresh. Props to Rockstar for delivering this to us. Now, given the ones that didn't like it that much, just get over it. Yeah the roads are slippery, yeah it's foggy but that's just weather and in all honesty it did last only a day.

 

In all fairness what they should do is make it so San Andreas has snow 15 days during each winter month and that's it. 15 days snow, 15 days normal weather. Consecutive repeats three times a year. In a whole year that would be 45 days of snow, 320 days of normal weather.

 

 

 

So stop the drama because it's really not worth it, share your opinion but don't be an as*hole to others about it.

For a game that SHOULD only be played by people over 18 R* don't seem to understand that us adults have responsibilities, especially parents. I got in maybe an hour Christmas Eve, but as I was doing a 90 mile drive to relatives next day I couldn't stay up too late.

 

As they do not have an Xbox/PS that's all the time I got. It was a good idea, and maybe it would have gotten annoying after too long, but I think it should have been from 24th to 26th, i.e. 3 days worth.

 

Oh well, it was a nice touch though, and now we know it can do it!

If snow is only going to be around for one day they should just change everything about it like you guys are saying. Weapons should all be snow-based, like snowballs and snowball launchers, an icicle as a shank. Maybe next year they'll make a snowball deathmatch map or two. I don't know about you guys but I had some pretty epic snowball fights as a kid with huge forts and everything. Putting sleds at the top of Chiliad would be awesome too.

 

Maybe with enough feedback/bitching we can get them to bring the snow back for a day or three. I didn't get a chance to see it and I'd like to, and I can tell a lot of people really liked it.
