They knew of his reach. His power. And above all, his ability to kill without feeling. By the end of 2013 Doc Faustino had a vast criminal empire based in Los Santos but also reaching out to Liberty City. His gang known as "The Syndicate" was the most predominant organized crime group in the San Andreas area. In this group was an aspiring capo named Giacomo "Jack The Nose" D'amico. D'amico had grown up in Sicily before migrating to the U.S. and had strong beliefs in despotism, a government ruled by one. He couldn't have cared less who his country's government was ruled by though, he was worried about the criminal government. In 2013 after getting the blessing of Doc Faustino he started a group he called the "California Despotist Military" or "CDM". It was to serve as an aid to the syndicate in times of war, and also to spread the syndicates power. Any crime organization who didn't comply with the syndicate and the commission it sat on was relentlessly attacked by the CDM until they either complied or got out of town. Attacks could be anything from car bombings to shootings. Sometimes the families of the targets were killed. The CDM had no problem with killing innocent people in the name of the syndicates power. A news reporter once said that it was "as if the cartels from Mexico had migrated to Los Santos".
