Well pretty easy when Rockstar don't encrypt the tunables file that's available without a password from their website. So what did this guy do to you? His rank isn't an issue as perks stop at 120. But, I am sure there MUST be a reason for such a lazy attitude from rockstar. That may not be easy for them at this time when they are still expanding the online possibilities with new missions and updates before they finally focus on securing the player experience.I was trying to point out to hackers that it's not right to push the great game in such a mess for own selfish fun and waste rockstar's time. PkUnzipper
This makes me happy I don't play online. I knew this would happen and piss me off in the process. I will play online one day if this is sorted out. But hacking or modding or whatever is a like a cancer for these games. Even the so called mods I've seen for previous games on YouTube like "graphics mods" and so on, they all make the games look like sh*t IMO. I would much prefer a game left to devs to work on. You CAN play online without requiring a tampon for the cyber nose bleeds these village idiots give everyone. It's called Invite Only and Solo Sessions. But the problem with these servers lately, is that the recent 1.07 and 1.08 patches appear to have made these sessions unstable. The last couple of Invite only & Solo sessions I've been on have frozen up unpredictably. And this appears to be with an increasing frequency lately. Especially when sending my char to sleep on the bed to remove the scars etc. There's also a remotel possibility that you'll end up being placed in a regular server instead of back in the Invite Only session. This happened to me once when I tried to separate from the group of players I was with at the voting screen. I voted for a screen refresh but the majority of the other players opted to return to regular FM. Which is exactly where I ended up. PkUnzipper
I've just found out that the core problem is that GTA Online is infested with f*cking teenagers. I don't think hackers would be that much of a problem if they didn't had these mentally-ill packed hordes caring about them. Sorry if anyone feels offended. Teenagers really suck and I can't help myself to hate them when they use goddamn speakers and I hear dat f*cking baby voice ruining my cool online session. So much hate. To be fair although it's rated 18 just like most games, adults should be over games anyway. You don't see them continuing playing Cluedo or Monopoly or whatever the f*ck us 'baby voice teenagers' probably play. It should be a phase and I know I won't be playing games when I'm at 20, probably even 18 because I would have better things to do with my life than hang around with people younger than me. That's pretty bold statement to make, especially since a lot of members in this forum are above 18 years old, and do play GTA: Online. basically this. Nathaaann not to come across as sounding condescending, but this was an extremely presumptuous statement to make. While the average console gamer ranges in age from mid 20s to mid 30s, there are a LOT of older gamers (like myself) who STILL play games. But as a hobby and not a phase as you've indicated. But I suspect that with my generation of gamers (Gen X) we tend to focus more exclusively on PC gaming (which IMO is the last bastion of high quality, deep immersion gaming aka Skyrim, SA, VC etc.) v. online gaming (which as an old school gamer, I find superficial and increasingly social media based. Perfect example of this is Farmville and now GTAO). IMO, the younger generation gamers like Gen Ys and yourself (Gen Z) most likely grew up on online gaming (which was most likely via the console). Thanks to the proliferation of social media (and internet conveniences like Youtube & Google) which are now a permanent feature of the online gaming community, you've been socially conditioned on your perception of who makes up a gaming community. On this forum alone, I suspect the majority of posters are minors who have yet to graduate high school. I base that on the sort of immature posts I see in threads around the forums. Since these sorts of threads/posts are all you see on a daily basis, then it's logical to assume the majority of gamers who play GTAO (and online games) are a specific chronological demographic. When IMO, this couldn't be further from the truth. Since I believe the majority of older gamers are casual gamers who don't care to post on forums and/or lurk on here (and other gaming forums). In my case, I've always lurked on the older GTA forums and have never felt the need to post until recently. Because until GTA V, I've always been an extremely contented PC gamer. I used the forums to download mods, stay current with game news, and get help/tech support from other gamers to fix what was wrong with my PC game. And I was very satisfied accumulating many additional game play hours with my heavily modded GTA titles on the PC (like with SA and GTA IV). Until R* decided to f*ck over SP for GTAO, which forced a change in the fundamental way in which I have enjoyed the GTA franchise. And to date R* has increasingly lost my confidence in their ability to control the scat storm that GTAO has now blown up into. So I went from being an anonymous lurker to writing wall to wall posts raging against R*. Because I need to vent my frustration and disillusionment with how it appears they're going to screw up SP on future GTA titles----assuming we'll get a future SP with GTA 6 that is. The online gaming community is a LOT more complex than you think Nathaaann. And especially since a growing number of the online and GTA fan base community happen to be young AND female gamers in your age demographic. Celticfang
IMO, there's a clear distinction (at least on PC) between hackers and modders, though some do straddle that line (see illegal mods, illegal in terms of messing with exe files which is usually a no go) Console modders/hackers? Nah not so much, stereotypically you have to mod your console, I did with my PS2 to play imported games. I physically had to hack my console to do that. Whereas now with the PS3, I could just switch a few settings and bam, new server and (say for GTAO) billions of stuff in a game, money, Xp, whatever. That's hacking in my book. So is loading a trainer up on an MP console game and using it. Again hacking the game files. Modding? That IMHO is a gray area on consoles but if anything it's a tiny tiny fraction of what it is on PC simply due to it being harder to mod and not be labeled a cheater. serpentoflight
Everyone must have decent friends added, with that in mind hackers can't ruin GTAO if you play invite only with friends, joining a random game will no doubt be full of tanks and terminators but it's not an issue if you play invite only, GTAO is not ruined unless you join random sessions with people u dont know, problem(s) solved, you're welcome. Niobium
Literally. And they're kind fun to f*ck with, too. I came across this dude with GodMode a few hours ago. He was in the middle of the street shooting rockets at everyone. I kept going back and forth, running him over at 100+ Mph every time. And he just kept missing and missing. He kept yelling and raging. It was kinda funny. A few other players eventually joined in on trolling him. He placed million dollar bounties on us but we didn't kill eachother, we just kept annoying him. Felt like world peace. But still, he was an asshole, he deserved to be treated like an asshole, and he deserved to be laughed at by a bunch of assholes. i wish i was there lol

Niobium
As I predicted, several people have stepped in to claim Modders are only improving the game experience for everyone. I have NEVER seen one time where I felt any modder improved my experience. This is an incredibly insulting and arrogant assumption. Nobody ASKED you to modify my game experience, but these turds just don't give a damn. They feel ENTITLED to do whatever they please, and then come here to lecture everyone and even insinuate that the rest of us should feel GRATITUDE. What about folks who simply want to enjoy the experience the way the developer INTENDED? You aren't going to convince me that modders are any better than hackers. This is something only people in the "mod community" come up with to justify their arrogant belief that they have a god given RIGHT to modify someone elses work. Keep promoting that B.S., while watching how almost EVERY game eventually drowns in this problem. GTAV continues to deteriorate daily, and these same idiots will keep coming here acting as if they aren't part of the problem. i agree that these modders are evil, but only the ones who use their modding abilities to gain an unfair advantage. every other modder is ok. also, hacking is kind of like modding the game illegally. every hacker that uses hacks to gain an unfair advantage, or gives you trillions of dollars against your will and acts like they are helping improve your experience, is a self-righteous piece of sh*t

Smith John
I think the point 73duster is trying to make here; is that while online modders may not have the malicious intent that the dickless, 10 year old hackers may have, they are still inflicting their version of the game where it may not be wanted. Just because they might find their creation a fun enhancement of the game, does not necessarily mean everyone else will. Sure, you've paid for the game, do whatever you want with it....in single player. But please keep it the f*ck out of online, where most people just want to play the game the way it was originally created and intended. Dude, I guess you are to upset to understand that Mods also can be played online. I say again, just for you. The Devs (in GTA: ROCKSTAR) can release some Modtools for the Community and some people, who are able to work with this tools can create some cool, free content. You can download this content. Something like new cars for GTA, new Weapons, Maps, what ever. But in PS3 or Xbox this is NOT possible. Not in SP and MP. But on PC this is even possible on MP. The server just need to support this MOD. Do you understand KNOW? HACKERS are NOT doing the same. They are not working with the MOD TOOLS (released by Devs, in this case ROCKSTAR) and they are cracking the gamefiles illegally. Without permission. Look at Youtube.
