Clothing availability

So I've been messing around with my friend lately when I found out that R* introduced some new holiday masks into the anarchy that is LS. I tried them on to just see what they looked like, the different Santa races made me laugh as I'm sure it's a small dig towards the latest controversy.

 

Anyway, I removed the mask and my character was now bald with no hat. It's not a problem, it happened on my main character as well. I went to Bub Mulet and got her hair done again and went back to my apartment to put on my old hat.

 

Only problem was, my hat was gone. It was a generic cap, forward that I owned, but it was special. She had owned the hat since the start of the game, winning the Asea in it to working hard and owning her own apartment with that hat. It was the green one with the emblem of a bird and the caption "swallow". Quite funny, but just a nice hat.

 

I went through my inventory and there were no hats there, I had no option anywhere to put it back on. I ended up heading over to all 3 different clothes stores, Ponsonboys, Suburban and even the Discount Store, and only one hat was available. Some tanned hat that reminds me horribly of 'Scumbag Steve'. It's nice, but not my old hat.

 

Also, scarves. I've got the option to buy, but no actual scarves to buy. I'd love to see what a scarf looked like online but I can't. I am a female and I've tried every type of top and jacket to see if that triggers it but still nothing. Do I have to do something first for it to show or is it another tease?

 

 

Lastly, I've noticed that my female character has no options for hats compared to the males. My male character has a few caps that he can wear, such as his black 'LS' hat, but my female has no option at all, anywhere.

Only thing I know is that hairstyles do affect hats availability. My character has the ponytail hairstyle and only one cap is available at the clothing stores. If you change your hair to Wavy Bob or something all hats will be available.

So if your hairstyle does not support some/any hats, they wont show up in the stores or your wardrobe
