What Cars Handle Best In The Snow?

This is a discussion for just that - cars, and which of them best handle in these conditions.

 

I don't have an Off-Road vehicle, nor do I want one.

 

That being said, which handle the best in this inclement weather?

 

I'm somewhat surprised to see a difference, at least marginally in different drivetrains. Particularly RWD vs AWD. Can't speak for FWD as I have no vehicles with that particular set up. I'd imagine AWD > FWD > RWD though.

 

Of my cars, the Sultan RS seems to be the best suited considering what it's based off of. The poor brakes only become worse though, so extra planning is required.

 

I tested my Tailgater and I thought maybe it would be based off of FWD A6 architecture. Thankfully it is not. While corning isn't as sharp as the RS, nor is acceleration, braking is improved and thanks to its' weight, it's an overall decent ride in the snow.

 

I also tested my Exemplar, knowing it rides a bit heavy. That of course helps with its' RWD set up. Not a bad choice but not something I would select.

 

For sh*ts and giggles I lastly took out my XF, it handled surprisingly well which I find incredibly - odd since it is a super powered RWD vehicle, I expected more tire spin and sliding. Not exactly so.

 

That being said, any other cars you find to suit these snowy conditions well? Also, do various tire/wheel types ACTUALLY make a difference? It's funny that no change in traction occur. If they do, wondering if the stupid solution is to put "snow tires" on a Super that's RWD.

I've got my money on the Sultan. I found a Rancher XL this morning so I'm going to try it, that should be good wish we could buy chains at the customs shop!
