Turbo makes the motorcycles..well the choppers specifically sound a lot more powerful so I like it.

I think it's pretty obvious how turbo ruins the good muscle cars/classics. Now, I think Rockstar should have a supercharger for muscle and classic cars. That way, we don't have an annoying turbo sound. All they would have to do would be change the name, and make a supercharger sound. That's it.

some of the fastest street muscle cars use turbos since its more efficient then superchargers so i dont know what the problem is? if its only the sound that bothers you then thats retarded, as if its a big deal weather we hear a pshhh sound vs the sound of a dieing alternator.

all street legal might i add. so if you think a turbo ruins a muscle car and a supercharger would be better, you really are an idiot.

So you really think that this >

Sounds better then

This?>

Turbo makes cars sound like a honda ricer. A supercharger sounds like a muscle car from the future.

honda ricer eh?

I am talking about the sound. You can put a supercharger in a honda. You can put a turbocharger in a mustang.

I just don't like the bad air brakes sound the turbo makes on most cars. Way too miss timed. I also want a true ah-ooo-gah horn

More "efficient" huh? You have no idea what you are talking about.

This. But car-noobs such as 99.99% of all gamers and including R* don't know that V8 cars should run with superchargers. Turbo's ruin the V8 sound a lot, and cars already have crappy sound effects in GTA V.

Is this really be debated? This isn't a racing game, no need for the cars to have a "realistic" sound. Besides a few of the "muscle" cars have turbocharged badges on them. Just look at the Gauntlet, turbocharged and has a carb set up. It would take way to much resources to correct these little "mistakes" and have no real benefit.

You must be a car noob then lol.

Go to yellowbullet forums or ls1tech (GM V8's 4.8L, 5.3L, 5.7L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L ) LSX aka GEN III/IV generation V8's get turbo and twin turbos all damn day. They are also the most commonly swapped engine for the past 14 years or so.

You can find a Lsx block and probably with a turbo in just about any car, from your choice of old school Chevys to mustangs, Lexus, toyotas, jaguar, etc etc. go on ls1tech.com and take a look through their conversions & hybrids section. There a lot of swaps being done on many different cars.

Plenty of people putting turbos on older Gen 1 small blocks and big block chevy motors too.

Lots of superchargers too, most commonly used would be Procharger unit.

Neither one is used just for sound lol, I'm sure this plays a factor for people but it's not a big one. Some turbos are lound and others not so much, depending on your exhaust and piping for it. A turbo can be as quite as a mouse at a redlight which can be good if you like to randomly redlight race people(if that's your thing) they won't hear your turbo until you get under boost. They both have their place, both have there goods and bads. Only thing that would make me personally pick turbo over supercharge would be boost controller since you can easily input how much boost you want to make at any given time with the push of a button. Unlike most superchargers you need to swap out a belt and pulley to adjust boost, or the new procharger unit that just released also let's you control boost with a button like turbos but haven't heard much feedback from it yet.

I brought this up ages ago on here. I think the dump valve sound is what annoys people on muscle cars. I don't know why they chose to add in an atmospheric dump valve anyway as the recirculating ones sound better, more of a warble than a gay pshhhhhht.

That's how you look at it. I've been to an uncountable amout of custom/muscle car meets and you'd be surprised how much Turbo's you find on cars. Adding a blower whine would be awesome though.

Totally agree, that sound is fricking stupid, I refuse to use it in my favourite cars. Cars with great sound like the Cheetah or F620 are stuck with that stupid sound if you really want to race them.

It´s stupid every car has turbo tunning avaliable in the first place.

It's just a game. In reference to turbo vs. Supercharger. Any real car can have whatever he owner wants really.

If you want to look at history. One of the most underrated yet iconic muscle cars was the Buick grand national....turbo. the new caddy cts will offer a twin turbo v6 as well.

My Mercedes which is more ricer them muscle car is supercharged stock.

I agree in some cases, but the Sabre Turbo, err, presumably should have a turbo. I have a Phoenix and didn't turbo it for authenticity reasons.....until I noticed the "Turbo" badge on the grille.

How do you know that it doesn't have a stock turbo? I had a turbo car before, it's not that noticeable unless you go full-out with intake and exhaust upgrades
