Nothing happened. I've yet to find one person give a f*ck about these social club events. Maybe if they actually offered something useful besides R* hats and discounts on random sh*t you don't need or already have.

I haven't got the game or even a console but I heard there were a bunch of hackers and stuff.

Nothing really much happened during the Online event weekend. R* had a live stream showing the content creator and played a few races and some deathmatch's within the creator to give us an example. Discounts on the Buzzard, Dinka Double T, and the Adder were another part. But yes, there is a wide mass of hackers running around in lobbies and gifting people huge amounts of money.
