To hell with Cheaters Pool

If I actively stop you from playing - like spawn killing you repeatedly - I am doing more harm to you than a gift, be it a large gift. The large gift you can report and get removed. An asshole stalking you onto XBOX is harder. PS3 doesn`t have it, but on XBOX you can join recently met players`s lobbies without the need to be friends.

 

Why should people have to wait 5 days for Rockstar to read a message, when they didn't even ask for the money. I've sent Rockstar messages before and it's taken up to a week to reply. It's not their job to have to manually remove money from thousands of people's accounts because hackers decided to do this. Their job is to fix it because they shouldn't be able to do it in the first place and take action to the people that are causing these problems.

 

As for stalking people online, it's possible to block someone from doing that on Xbox by changing your privacy settings.

 

To me, it`s less destructive, or less "ruining my fun" to receive 2 bils than to have to pay my own car`s insurance for it being blown up by a tank, just to give an example.

 

As I said before, to each its own. I don`t like your arguments and they are a million light years away of convincing me that mine are wrong, so there is little reason to debate this issue. See post #25.

Same can be said about your argument, and convincing me. But I wouldn't go as far to say that either are wrong. Neither side is wrong, this thread is for people to post whether or not they think cheaters pool should actually be there for those that mod the game.

There is Passive Mode for that - and there is joining a new session. If you join a lobby and just see a bounty in front of you not knowing the price,

and then kill the person and go into a negative bounty it very will is risking a lot and effecting the player.

You can go into Passive Mode for that or join a new lobby. But in terms of money, if someone joins a lobby and sees a bounty in front of their face and takes the opportunity, then goes into a negative balance. That very well is effecting them.

The only thing they can do is share that negative bounty with someone else, and if they didn't do it in time (or didn't know) then they're stuck like that.

Then the cheaters will go away or will have to get new accounts, and it might scare other would-be cheaters into not cheating for fear of a ban. Right now it doesn't seem like anyone takes Rockstar seriously, which is why there's so many problems.

If the ban is via the cloud servers, then they will not be able to bypass it unless they create a new gamertag/psn.

If we were talking about traditional hacking I might agree. Since this includes a lot of people who changed a dns addy I don't. Cheating in this game is so ridiculously easy I can only blame R*. A lot has to do with the genre. You are playing a criminal. It ruins immersion to force players to be goody two shoe snitches because the game has massive bugs. That imo ruins the game more than the cheaters.

I didn't say that. But this game is broken, cheating is rampant. f*ck banning people. Every iota of effort should be on fixing it rather than bans. This isn't people with a modified console causing havok, it's anybody who watched a YouTube video and made the rather poor choice to make a pathetically easy change for money/rp/godmode. I'm honestly not sure the "legit" players out there could sustain the game.

 

Edit: as far as "sustaining" a game goes, in my experience that's at least 200k people playing at any given time. It's not a total #, so a larger group is required to keep that number of people playing at any given time. Below 100k playing and the game is pretty much dead.

Im pretty sure there is more than 200k playing at any given time at least. So much so i think the game would comfertably survive a large ban wave. cheaters should not be allowed to play at all... Straight console ban..No exceptions. My views on cheaters/hackers/modders is no secret however i would be happy enough playing with the LSC glitchers as although i dont like or agree with it its certainly not killed the game plus it looks like its all fixed now.

 

This God mode crap and ISO modders has to be stopped though. Just last night did Sawmill Survival and one guy was just running round the map like Rambo and was being killed in EVERY round ( notification that he had been killed but not that he was now spectating) yet was still running around invinsible. I knew God mode worked in free roam didnt know people used it against the AI too. How easy do people need this game to be?

 

Anyway... I love this game and love Online but i feel that in a very short time the game will be dead and buried as the cheats/modders/hackers will have turned this game into GTA IV free roam. Every legit decent player will be in private lobbies/playlists. No disrespect to GTA IV free roam but thats all it was...free roam with some games. Gta online gives you so much to do without even having to leave free roam and yet people still have to ruin it.

 

This is why we cant have nice things.

Without the ability to see that information we're just guessing. I'm willing to make exceptional allowances for the "greater good" and making sure the game survives.

personally, i love being able to buy what I want. Doing jobs all the time for cash is tedious since all the missions are pretty much the same, go to x, kill/escort y/pick up drugs, bring him/it back to z.
