To hell with Cheaters Pool

Rockstar shouldn't reward hackers/modders with a lobby they can all play in - and glitch out of. When they try to go Online how about rewarding them with a big black screen that says "Your account has been disabled for not following our terms of agreement".

 

I don't mean people that received this money from hackers, I don't mean people that made money glitching (LSC glitching), I mean people that are going out their way to perform these things by modding their game. They know what they are doing, and they've already given Rockstar the finger by glitching out of these cheaters lobby.

 

Maybe then people will start taking R* more series.

LSC might have been a problem back in its day, but at least it was never going to yield billions and 90% of those that did the glitch still had plenty of things left to unlock/ still had to watch their spending since blowing a few millions can be done really quickly.

 

All those that took advantage of the "replay mission" and "criminal records" exploits before they were patched were not even a real problem when you take all the recent nonsense in consideration.

I don't think this is true. If the modder were able to do all the things they are doing now (like hacking 100 billion), who's to say they are going to pay for 1,250,000 cash cards? Hell, who's to say they won't just mod the next paid DLC that Rockstar worked hard to make, by downloading it for free. Is risking these people Online just for a extra bit of bucks worth screwing everyone elses gameplay?

 

People paid $200 for their Collectors Edition, and all they get is new character customization a wimpsy little Hotknife car. Which by the way can be obtained for free for those that modded their game.

If a small number of your customers detract the majority from using your product, then you can be sure as hell they will kick them out. Maybe that's just me, but business wise, that would make sense.

 

It's one thing to have a game with hackers on the down-low, and another where they are not even trying to mask their presence. Nearly every lobby has at least one guy who's level 300+, invincible and spamming billion bounties.

 

From what I understand, it's mostly script kiddies that watched youtube videos about tweaking their DNS address. Obviously Rockstar didn't bother making sure their servers were secure lol...

Well I've had some stupid cloud server problems on my main live account, it just never saves, so I don't even bother going on that anymore, just going to bmx on my rank 1000 get those skills up

Why should they not be able to play? You have the ability to never be bothered by those type of gamers. Use the tools at your disposal. Lots of people like mods and the cheese. Rockstar is trying to accommodate all players.

I agree with you. The only sensible reason I can see modders being useful is that they bring awareness to an issue - that GTAOnline is flawed. But guess what, they can do that by making a reports to Rockstar, not by giving away billions to players that didn't ask, not by setting 10 billion bounties, not by making "cheater sessions", and not by making YouTube videos to get their subscriptions up.

Because that is what you are saying - bad sports and cheaters like god mode and invisibile / exploit map / map assets are fine and certainly not potentially ruin other player`s fun and turn them away from this game, but a player that actually gives money to people and helps them play, rather than grind, is the Devil on Earth?

 

Because, from where I am standing, money hackers are better and certainly lesser inclined to do actions that will turn a player away from a game than a bad sport / asshole, or a god mode / invisible spawn camper.

Essentially yes. I'm not saying there isn't enjoyment in it at first, but it's only generally for the short-term.

One of my friends got boosted to lvl 1000 just by killing a few cops after a modder entered the server. Wtf is that crazy sh*t ?

Cause' a glitch is different than a mod. Anyone modifying the game code in order to do these things shouldn't be able to access GTAOnline, period.

 

To answer your question. I'm not sure if god mode is done through modding or not, but the difference between that and giving away billions is you can walk away easily from god mode by finding a new session. Once you're gifted that 1 billion dollars, not only does that mess up your social club stats making everything 0% because of the shared cash, but that also takes away from the players that really wanted to work for their stuff - you can't walk away from that easily. Putting them in a screwed position.

 

Not only that, but once heists is out they probably ruined that for a lot of people aswell. The legit players no doubtly want heists not only because it's fun but because it will likely give a bigger payout than anything else.

 

Remember Rockstar's motto when GTAOnline was first released? "Cash is King", the whole point of GTAOnline was you start from nothing, earning little, a low rank with barely anything good going for him, and after grinding and playing you finally earn that first million and able to buy that house and car, and what you worked for finally payed off. Modders ruin that for people that wanted to do that grinding, people that wanted to feel that sense of achievement. And half the time they don't even ask if the person wants the money, they just go ahead and set bounties..

 

Oh right, not always positive bounties either. People have also been getting negative bounties on their account.

 

Lastly it financially effects Rockstar since they will get less Cash Cards sales - which means less money for the company, which means less development time on the game.

A lvl 3 can escape any threats by using passive mode and getting out of reach. Might take a little while for them to realise, but the functionality is there and it works.

 

While I agree trolling new users can be slightly harmful to the game's population by turning them off playing the game, it is nothing compared to being gifted billions and then risk being banned because of it lol

If I actively stop you from playing - like spawn killing you repeatedly - I am doing more harm to you than a gift, be it a large gift. The large gift you can report and get removed. An asshole stalking you onto XBOX is harder. PS3 doesn`t have it, but on XBOX you can join recently met players`s lobbies without the need to be friends.

Why should people have to wait 5 days for Rockstar to read a message, when they didn't even ask for the money. I've sent Rockstar messages before and it's taken up to a week to reply. It's not their job to have to manually remove money from thousands of people's accounts because hackers decided to do this. Their job is to fix it because they shouldn't be able to do it in the first place and take action to the people that are causing these problems.

 

As for stalking people online, it's possible to block someone from doing that on Xbox by changing your privacy settings.

something needs to be done. I cant play free roam right now in public sessions bc for me receiving a bil would ruin my game. Once you beat single player and have more money than you will ever need again the game doesnt get more fun. You can buy the crazy stuff you couldnt afford before and have a little fun here and there but its the progression that all gta games have, and going from a nobody to a boss on this game that is fun. This mp was built for that same progression but impatient kids think its the same online game as gta 4 so there cheating to try and beat the game right away.

The example you gave is irrelevant.

 

With passive mode being free and unlocked at lvl 1 there is NO WAY to be spawn griefed unless you allow it/ dont know about passive mode.
